Yeast questions

How long does it take for yeast to go away?
How soon can symptoms start getting better?
Besides improving symptoms, what would indicate an improving yeast infection?

Sigh, now I wish that my vaginal symptoms didn't clear up so quickly and easily the few times I had yeast down there. Then maybe I would've figured out I had a lot more yeast symptoms.

I think though that my yeast issues stem from the mini pill. Birth control pills. I'm bf and my af has returned, I have to take something. I hate that this could be a possible cause, wondering if the diet would even matter considering i'm taking the pill! Anyone have an info that aspect?
The symptoms that I've seen over the past 2 days are: night sweats, achy feeling, tired, irritable, diarreah, extreme thirst, sensitivity in my taste buds. A food that i'm used to eating, gave me a very distinct sore mouth today. Maybe that is a food i should avoid from now on! I feel like i'm in slow motion. all of these are not normal for me!

Oh! Is a sore mouth while eating some foods a symptom? The last few times I had mango it wasn't nearly as nice as it used to be.

I think the sore mouth is a symptom, the same thing happened to me yesterday. My mouth was super sensitive. The only thing i'm having issues with is i'm having a killer vaginal yeast infection. Going on day number 5 now.
I need relief. I've used just about everything, pulstilla for 2 days...no improvement, difulcan by mouth..no improvement...over the counter anti fungal....greek yougurt...nothing is helping. I'm at a total loss.
Day #4 of no sugars, no yeast diet.
I'm wondering if the yeast is dying off...thus making the yeast infection more severe than normal. I just wish i knew when the symptoms in my nether regions will go away.
I feel like dragging my but across the cement drive way. It's just not good!

I really think you should see relief by now. I feel better within a day, and complete withing a week. When I finally got rid of a yeast infection I has for years, it took me 3 weeks to be done with it. From personally experience yeast infection can be highly related to food allergies and poor circulation (for me) and if you are getting worse, whatever you are eating more on a restricted diet could be the problem.
I tried yogurts, probiotics, garlic, vinegar, coconut oil, heavy yeast killers live paur d arco, colloidal silver, and no relief. I had to cut out the allergens, for me it was dairy, and for a while gluten, but gluten back in small amounts is fine now. I also drank lots of strong ginger infusion, i'm talking really strong, and that is what was the major cure for me.
And I also learned that my circulation issues were from me having lyme disease and I didn't even know it. Now treating that , the circulation is way better.

The only thing i've had almost everyday is beans. But very little amounts. I've not been eating the same thing everyday. I've really changed it all up a bit.
Oh goodness, Why is this so difficult? I guess I need to keep a food journal. But wait on top of all this I started my period a week early. So not only do i have a yeast infection i have a heavy AF, usually my af's are light. This one is very heavy and lasting longer than normal! I really need to see someone to help me figure all this out! I'm getting so confused.

Well, clearly, I didn't manage to actually get rid of the yeast, but I've had luck getting rid of the vaginal symptoms by sticking fresh garlic inside. Should be easy to do if you're using a pad of some kind (also a great, if messy, way to apply yogurt externally as well, very soothing). If you don't have anything of the kind, you could pop some inside during a bath or when you can sit on a towel you don't care about for awhile.

I did the yogurt last night, however when i woke up this morning it was just as bad. It did feel really good when i first put it on. I havent tried garlic yet. I shall do that today!

You're having heavy periods and you're on the mini pill? Hang on...

yep, Dr. Google says that's something you should talk to your prescribing doctor about. Some bleeding between your periods is normal, heavy bleeding is bad. Especially if you get cramps or headaches too.

Oh, but it also makes periods heavier in general, so that could be okay.

How regular are periods supposed to be on the mini pill? With the combined BCPs, starting a week early would definitely mean problems. Is the bleeding you're having now likely to be just your regular period being heavy?

Are you talking about yeast infections specifically or a bodily yeast issue in general? Maybe I'm misreading....

Just asking because I had really bad internal candida, but have never had a vaginal yeast infection.
I do get a small patch in my rear crack (sorry TMI) when my body is over yeasting, but never anywhere else.

I've been on the candida diet since Feb/March and can tell you about it if that's what your asking.

Awesome! Er, the information I mean.

Has it cleared up your yeast yet?
Since it was all internal (except for the itchy butt when it got bad) what cued you in what was going on?
What sort of changes did you notice as you switched to the diet?

(I'm sooo bad at sugar free. Thank goodness I've got xylitol and am used to a high fiber diet.)

Lol.

Honestly, I don't think the yeast will ever completely go away. It's more of something that's controlled through starving it. There's always the potential for it "rethrive".
But, as long as I keep as much yeasty stuff out of my diet as possible I feel awesome. I can tell when I've overdone it and the yeast starts re-thirving...I get minor die off sympstoms all over again.

It wasn't any one thing that clued me in. I was having a whole lot of symptoms that the doctor couldn't pin-point to any one thing, but all were related to candida overgrowth. The candida diet was a last ditch effort to try something natural. My doctor thought I was a little nuts at first when I told her that symptoms started magically disappearing after my initial die-off symptoms subsided.
I'd been on antibiotics and birth control for AGES so I knew that could be a contributor.

As I changed my diet (zero sugar was my first major change) I noticed my skin was more hydrated, my bloating/gassiness went away, no more cracked heels, more energy in the morning, less fogginess, my depressive mood lightened, my blood pressure went back down (i was hypertensive)
The biggest thing was that my weight started going down. I hadn't been able to drop any of my pregnancy weight (my son is 5!!) despite running 20 miles a week and eating calorically correct. I've lost 25 pounds since mid-feb.

Now, I know the first inclination for most people is "well, yeah. you make a major diet change then your whole life will change" and I agree. But the fact that I had severe die off symptoms and can literally feel the symptoms return if I eat sugar or get too much carby stuff in my diet has me sold that it was truly candida.
My initially die off lasted about two and half weeks. Mostly the itchy arms/hands and headaches.

So, that's pretty much the basics of my story.
I still get flak for believing all my symptoms were due to candida, but, as the saying goes: You may think there's no such thing as reindeeer, but me and gradma, we believe!

Well, one source I've read said that candida is supposed to be in the body, it's just a matter of keeping it to reasonable levels.

I don't know either but I'm on day 3 of the Candida diet and am HATING the die-off ...
I figured i had yeast because of the recurrent vaginal yeast infections, so I started the diet too. I'm on day 4 and a few of the die off symptoms have starting going away. Day 3 was the worst for me so far. Today...not so bad.
I am having a AF and it's heavy. I've been on the mini pill for 20 months and just started my period 3 months ago. But this is a heavy af for me. Starting a period a week early is not normal? I'm also bf! would that matter?

No idea. The Googling I did for "mini pill heavy period" didn't make it clear if shorter cycles were okay. One site did say that after 45 days you should take a pregnancy test, so clearly considerable variation is possible.

If your AF goes longer than 5 days of heaviness, I'd call your doctor.

Back on thread, : that these horrible hay fever symptoms that don't respond to allergy medication are the start of die off.

My eczema is already doing better.

My feet will take longer to be able to tell.

DD hasn't complained about an "ouchy" vulva for a couple days, which could be a good sign, or just mean she's distracted.

Her teeth aren't going to get better without more help, but : that killing the yeast lets the other nutrition have an effect.

Has anyone here had any egg sensitivities due to candida?
I can't eat an egg anymore w/o extreme burping and swollen belly. I have been suffering w. yeast for 3 years.
I am FINALLY off of sugar now... no alcohol, no bread, very little fruit, mostly brown rice and barley for grain. But all of that and I ate a tiny TINY piece of pie sweetented w. brown sugar and honey and a few corn chips and I Have Another Vaginal Yeast Infection.
I am so depressed now too.
I am feeling down and sorry for myself about this yeast business. I don't ever know what to eat anymore. I don't sit for meals with my kids, can't go for dinner and drinks with my hubs.
Eck. I hope tomorrow is sunnier in my foggy yeasty mind....
