Gold's Gym anyone?

Anyone have experience with Golds? I am going to go visit tomorrow. If I am ever going to work out it HAS to be at a place that has child care, otherwise, I'll never be able to go.

There aren't many options here, suprisingly. None of the downtown gyms have childcare. There are 2 other places, one is really far and the other seems kind of pricey, though might not actually be in the long run.

Thanks

I used to do a trade-out at Gold's Gym...I worked 3 hours a week in child care, and I got a free membership (including child care!) It was a pretty good deal, if you use it enough to be worth your time.
I liked Gold's Gym ok, the facility was nice. I ended up not using it enough to make it worth my while, so I quit doing it.

We use Gold's Gym and we're happy with it. I like that it is no-frills and the people who work out there seem to be there to work out vs. it being a meat market/meeting place. The rates are reasonable, and the childcare price can't be beat at $5 per child per month. With three little ones, I needed a place that charged by the month vs. by the visit and Gold's was one of my two choices. 24 hour Fitness would have cost me $9 per visit for childcare!!!!!!!!! Before Gold's we were members at LA Fitness and I didn't care for it. I joined it for the extra amenities like raquetball and the swimming pool, but never used them. Oh...and although they had a ton of cardio machines they were ALWAYS packed, while the weight room remained largely unused. At Gold's the emphasis is more on weight training, so I can always find an empty cardio machine to do cardio on after my strength training workout.

HTH!

There is a Gold's Gym by us that has raquetball, and the ONLY reason I want to join is for the raquetball! That's the only workout that I actually ENJOY doing.
But money is really tight right now and it's not possible to squeeze any extra out of the budget
