Can I get the preschool to change my son's naptime?

Because it does not work for us! We are an early-morning family by necessity, and they nap until 3:00 p.m., which means ds2 is always awake at least until 10:00, often 10:30 p.m. It's a pretty small preschool/daycare. Anyone had any luck doing this? What do they do w/kids who need to wake up earlier?

That wouldn't be a possibility in our program. We could wake them up earlier and allow them to lay on a mat and read a book, but we couldn't move nap time up for one child.

You really just need to ask about this. Our PS wakes children early without difficulty. But that is irrelevant - find out what your PS does. Good luck!

They are willing to wake him up earlier, and tried today. I was super late due to locking myself out of my client's house, so I only got the report from my son that he "cried a lot" when Ms. Sonia woke him up. I'll have to talk to them on Thursday.

We asked our daycare to wake dd up by 2 pm. She hated it, but otherwise, like with you, she was up until 11 or later.

She was about 3 when we asked that, and they were OK with it. She stopped napping at 4.

I have a home daycare, so I can move the whole naptime by 30-45 minutes in either direction. Or at least I'd try... can't promise that it would work.

I can let the kids off the mats by about 2:00 or 2:30. But, by law, all the kids under kindergarten age must at least rest for two hours every day.
