Cloth pad care question

Thread Starter
I switched to cloth pads several years ago, and love using them. Now I use a Ladycup, with cloth panty liners as back-up.
My currrent favorite panty liners are Lunapads. Expensive, but worth it, for me.

I am currently going through a cycle of IVF. Part of the protocol is to use progesterone suppositories (vaginal)

I have used these before, back when I was using disposable pads. I did have quite a bit of leakage. Wearing a wet, sticky disposable pad every day for 3 months made a mess of my most delicate skin.

I would love to use my Lunapads this time. However, I don't want to ruin them. I don't know what the inactive ingredients are in the suppositories (don't have them yet, and wasn't able to find out online) The suppositories are gel based, but I am guessing they have some petroleum products.

Will this wreck my pads? Cause them to not be absorbant?

That's a good question, but I would think they would be fine.

If they get oily, I'd scrub them a bit with some dawn to get it out... beyond that, I'd just go for it.

What about just folded flannel pieces? Get a cheap flannel bedsheet at a thrift store, cut it up, wash it. Flannel frays a little at first, but not much, and older flannel doesn't really fray much at all. Cut them big enough so you can double, triple, quadruple, whatever, fold them as needed. Then if they get ruined, throw them away (or compost!). If not, you have a whole bunch cloth wipes, pantyliners, rags, pet mess clean-ups, dusting rags, etc, for pretty close to free.
