I am starting to investigate the best type of bottle/nipple to use for when I start having to pump for going back to work. There are so many options/nre technologies out there and the information I am getting is conflicting and confusing. Bottom line - what has worked well for breastfeeding mothers? Of course I want to minimize nipple confusion, try not to screw up the latch and not drown my LO in milk and end up with him preferring a bottle over my breast because it is faster. Then I also have to find one that he will actually take.

I have been told that Gerber orthodontic nuks work well and take a lot of work because they are very slow. Some other people swear by Avent or Dr. Browns. My SMIL sent me an e-mail about First Year's breastflow bottles. Those sound good, but do they really work? It seems that more and more companies are coming up with bottle technology to help with breastfed babies?

In the end, it is really that big of a deal? Should I buy one of each and experiment?

Also, I have decided that I will probably end up using a pacifier and was wondering which types are the best for a breastfed baby? My LO has a strong desire to suck when he is chilling out and I think it would help with soothing him for sleep. I have been using the S's from the happiest baby stuff and I have offered him my pinkie when the other S's were not enough. It worked like a charm but I paid for it with a crappy latch the next time I fed him. I now have a no pinkie rule for the time being.

I never realized that this could be so confusing!!!!
