I'm thinking about hiring a nanny beginning in late summer or fall but I'm worried about how I'm going to find the right person. I'm wondering, aside from fine-tooth-combing my way through the traditional nanny hiring routes, if there's an alternative way to find someone who shares my parenting philosophies - attachment parenting, unconditional parenting, elimination communication, baby-led weaning, organic, no sugar, etc. My dd is nearly 6 mths, and we will more than likely be expecting another before too long.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Is there a certain place (online or off) where these types of nannies congregate? Do you have a recommendation of someone you know or have heard of? The sad thing is that my sister is a professional nanny and agrees with all my beliefs, it's just that she lives in the wrong country! (and yes, I've considered all the options in that regard). So I'm looking for someone in the US and I'm willing to relocate someone or possibly move myself.
