Liam Greenleaf (Sw...Irish Last name) was born on May 31 at 10:14 am after a 34 hour 99% natural birth. Holy Hell, yo. It had its ins and outs. I can't believe I stuck with it. He never got distressed at all during the long ride. Due to never having a stable contraction pattern throughout the entire labor and a wonky tailbone we couldn't get him to pass through, I had to push for FIVE hours to get him out of me. In the end my body gave out and the midwife and doula and I all decided it was okay to give a small amount of pitocin so we could get him out safely. I was totally cool with that and I *knew* I had given it my all and my body couldn't take over any longer. It still took an hour after that.
We are beyond in LOVE. He is the cutest, sweetest, peach and roses little boy I ever laid eyes on. He came out so alert and his first breath with just his head out was a hearty cry. He was 6 lbs 11 oz, 20 in. long and a full head of soft brown hair. He is the newfound center of everything.
He has a suck so strong it could part the red sea, so the bfing has been intense despite good latches. Off the computer mostly while adapting to our new life. Married for 10 yrs just the two of us to this little third wonderboy is such a shift!
