Hi MDCers,

A question for you:
I am on Prometrium--100 mg in the a.m. and 200 mg p.m. for the 2 ww, as per my doctor's orders (2 m/cs).
I am 8 DPO (approx) and am NAUSEOUS!!!
I've been nauseous all afternoon, before and after eating.
I've been doing this protocol for the last 4 months and haven't felt this level (or any) nausea until now (except when I was preggo).
Thoughts?
It's too early to test.
What are the chances I'm preggo and what are the chances it's just the Prometrium?
Please obsess with me! I can't test in good faith until monday or tuesday...

Thanks!!!

Kat

IF the nauseau was caused by HCG due to pregnancy, I would imagine there would be enough HCG to also turn a test +.

Good luck!

in either case, the nausea is usually caused by progesterone... so it could be due to progesterone from pregnancy in addition to the prometrium, or due to the prometrium itself. Id say the chances are the same as the chances of you being pregnant... around 30%.

The nausea of morning sickness is caused by HCG, not progesterone. However, it can also be caused by stress or even a bug you might have caught. I would test for sure.

Theres no proof that it is caused by either, actually. But it is definitely a side effect of increased progesterone, which is why many believe that it is due to the progesterone increase.

Thanks for the input! I'm going to try and hold off until Monday, because I didn't get positive FRERs until 11-12 DPO w/the other two pregnancies. However, I went out to do errands and could NOT bear the smell of cigarette smoke when I was at an ATM. And, I was at an event this evening and felt really overheated and flushed. So, we'll see...
if I'm preggo, it will be a miracle. DH was sick right during ovulation (w/fever), but I think I ovulated late because I had my wisdom teeth out the week prior, and we may have caught the egg after all. I had EWCM the day I normally ovulate and a little the day after and we DTD that night. So, fingers crossed!
BTW: Love your signature, Maeryn--Loading Baby!!! Fabulous!

I will keep y'all updated.

I've often wondered this since I have had NO ms in any of the last 3 mc's.
My betas with mc #2 were over 30,000 when we found there was no heartbeat and I never had a minute of nausea, I did have low progesterone (9.5, as a result of the fetus not developing normally). With mc #1 I did have one day where I felt slightly queazy. I don't know if it just hadn't started yet (First 2 mc's made it to about 6-7 wks but passed at 12)
This last one ended earlier and the baby only developed to about 5 wks and passed at 7 1/2

This cycle I have been using natural progesterone cream and haven't have kind of nausea.

The first time i took progesterone (200mg/day) i got aweful nausea about 4/5 dpo.
Got a bfp! Baby is now 2.

2nd and 3rd time i took progesterone,(last 2 cycles) i didnt get such nausea, but i did get mild nausea later in the cycle. One time it was actually a stomach bug and i spent the night vomiting.
Bfn's each time.

Progesterone mimics pregnancy and its really hard to tell either way. Thats why i hate it.

I hope your nausea mean a bfp for you!

Thanks, enigo, for your input. My progesterone was low with the first m/c, and I was on 200mg prometrium/day and not terribly nauseous. I hope this is a positive sign!

Becky--thank you for your support!!!!!
