If you like Evie so well and can't find a longer name, why not name her Evie? It works at every age: infant, 2, 10, 30, 60, 87. . .in professional and casual relationships too. (That's my test of a name, by the way.)

Good luck!

I know an Edie (ee-dee) not short for anything, just Edie. Maybe that would work, it's cute!

OP, my first thought was Evelyn. Evie is a sweet NN, and you have lots of good options!

Gabrielle gets called Gabriel all the flipping time, even by doctor's offices when it is correctly printed for them to read. And I am floored by all the people that can not figure out Julian, half think I made it up, the other half think it is a girls name and then there are the ones that can not pronounce it, and call him "Jul-en". It is hopeless.
A group of friends was out with their boss, Bob. They were at a restaurant where they had a reservation, and the girl kept calling him "Bobe". Yes, someone misprounounced BOB!

My DS is Gabriel, and I have the flip-side complaint of him constantly getting called Gabrielle, even in doctor's offices. No one can figure out that Iain = "Ian". And I've been asked if I made Judah up, too. Seriously?! I think there's just no winning with names. I actually thought my married last name would be perfect because it's an English/Irish name that *everyone* knows, rather than my almost-no-one-has-it German maiden name. And my last name gets mispronounced ALL the time.

We have an Evelyn that we call Evie (Eh-vie), and peeps always assume she is an EE-vie. I've realized we should have spelled her name "Evy" instead, but at almost 5, it's probably too late.
