Racing stripes and spots...girl or boy?

With my first pregnancy I had a major increase in my acne, including really bad breakouts on my back, which i don't normally have. I also had a distinct racing stripe (linea nigra) and "mask of pregnancy." I had a girl.

This time my acne is not remarkably changed, and at 30 weeks I see no sign of a racing stripe or mask.

For those of you who have had both sexes, did either of these pregnancy side effects correlate with a particular sex?

I've always said I really don't care what I'm having, but for some reason I'm a little freaked out about having a boy (I already know how to do "girl" and the boy thing is feeling like starting over, I think). I keep thinking about it and wondering if I can tell ahead of time. Though, for the record, I thought I was having a boy at this point in the pregnancy last time, too. HA!

Well, I will be interested to hear what folks have to say. My first two are boys, and during those pregnancies I had no breakouts, no 'racing stripe'.

I am pregnant for a third time with a very different feeling pregnancy. Maybe it is just because it is the third time around. I'm not far enough along for the line to show up on my belly, but my nipples are quite darkened (which did not happen before), and like you, I am having lots of acne and other patches of skin issues on my face and my upper back. My intuition is that it is a girl, but I won't know for a couple more weeks (I'm dying to know!).

I had a pronounced racing stripe with both of my boy pregnancies, and none so far with this girl pregnancy.

And for what it's worth, boys are incredible. I was nervous about them, too, and in the end I've loved parenting boys more than I could ever describe. I'm a convert!

I have 2 girls and currently am pg with a boy. My skin has been awesome this time, which was NOT the case with my girls. I started breaking out early in the first tri with both of them. As for linea negra, I haven't really had one with any of my pregnancies, and my "mask of pregnancy" has gotten worse with each one--but mine is exacerbated by sun exposure as well, and I am outside more now with 2 LOs.

I've had acne with all my pgs, I have two girls and a boy.

I didn't have any noticeable skin changes with my girls, but this time (boy) I do seem to have significantly more acne.

I had the line with both girl pregnancies, not with the boy. Acne for all three.

Acne was horrid with my daughter, not as bad with my sons. Light light stripe with my daughter, none with my sons. With my daughter I had dry patches especially on my eyelid, not with my sons. I am 11 weeks on Monday, so too early for a stripe yet, but horrid acne, dry eyelid & lip, and other things like craving cheese & oranges, horrid nausea, etc lead me to believe it is another girl.

I had acne and a really pronounced "racing stripe" with my boy. This time it's a girl and no acne as well as no linea negra... and I'm at 37 + so for me there was a difference... Congrats!

So far the responses have been overwhelmingly inconclusive!!

I guess the only real answer is "wait and find out!" Only 10 weeks left!
