Tristyn is learning by leaps and bounds. She loves tummy time and will sit for an hour playing with her toes and giggling with her brothers. She knows when its time to eat because she shakes her fists and kicks her legs like crazy.

She's definitely the tiniest of my children. I'm use to more robust children! If she's anything like my first though she'll chunk up a bit here in the next few months and then slim out again.

Is this an average time for AF to return? When did you all get it?

How is everyone else doing? Anyone else gonna have more kids? HOw are your babies? How are you all feeling.
update, please- I am curious about how everyone is doing!!
I had an AF back in May. Full deal. Haven't had one since and keep getting negative tests. So I don't know what is going on.

We actually are talking about another one. DH is actually the one who brought it up. I'm hoping to hold out a bit, but we'll see.

Tristyn is very vocal right now. She loves to talk to mommy and especially daddy and her brothers I estimate she's around 13-14 lbs right now. I'm excited to watch her grow.

I had to learn infant cpr yesterday in class and it was so hard looking at the baby manikins and practicing on them. Sent shivers down my spine. At least I can do it though. God bless rescue remedy for staving off the panic attack I felt when we started practicing.

With dd1, AF returned at 13 months and I thought that was too soon! Hoping I'm similarly blessed this time though.

We're definitely done at 2! Caroline has been nursing a lot more frequently at night than she had been...I'm hoping it's just a growth spurt. Dd1 went through this "four month sleep regression" and it didn't end until 23 months when we nightweaned (ie nursing every 1-2 hours all night, every night!). I would really rather NOT go through that again! Dh is on vacation this week though so that helps a bit since I don't have to get up when dd1 wakes up, but Caroline's been pretty squirmy in the morning too.

Anyone else dealing with food allergies? Dd1 is allergic to egg, milk and peanuts. So far, it seems like Caroline isn't reacting to the limited dairy/egg I've been eating (I don't eat any nuts), but it's so hard to tell. She has a diaper rash this week and I *think* it's from the detergent we use on her cloth diapers (her skin seems even more sensitive than dd1's), but I keep worrying that it's from something I'm eating.

We go Fri for her 4-month WBV. I think she's probably 15-16 lbs now but I'm terrible at measuring length accurately so I'm looking forward to seeing how big she is now! We don't vax but I like our peds and want to maintain a relationship, especially with the allergies, so we do most of the WBVs but we'll skip some after 6 months (which coincides with dd1's 3-year visit).

I got AF back between 3 and 4 months PP with my first three. Still haven't gotten it back this time, but I keep having random spotting so I think everything is still out of whack down there. Stupid c/s. I'm also taking dom, so that might be keeping her away.

We're ok I guess. Same old, same old around here - being baby #4 it takes a lot to surprise me anymore.

Not sure on the more kids thing.

Caleb is fine - a bit cranky lately and his sleep is all messed up, but from reading on my other board that seems to be pretty common with the 5 month olds. He was 15 lbs. 11 oz. last week so hoping that he is at least 16 at his weigh-in today.

I haven't gotten my period back, and it can stay away for another year as far as I'm concerned. We're not planning to try for another until Elsa is at least 18 months.

She stopped having teething symptoms but nothing actually broke through, so maybe it was a practice run or something. She was 4 months yesterday and is 26 inches long aand I'm guessing about 16 lbs.

I have fertile cervical mucus but that is it. I have had this for at least a month, on and off. I also get some cramps. But no show as of yet. I wouldn't mind more definite signs - either no signs or menstrual. I am 16 weeks postpartum. I *think* my cycle returned @ 6 months with my first.

It took 4 years to be blessed with #2 and I am 43 so I think these two beautiful children completes us. I do not think I could give the proper attention to my older child, if I were to have a 3rd. It is challenging as it is!

Lucy is awesome, she is sweet and smiley and she knows how to scream and grunt and make some throaty/growl noise. She squeals. She babbles passionately. She likes to chew/suck on her fist. She was pleased with her self when she got her foot in her mouth. She likes to be held up on her feet and she is doing lots of "situps" trying to get into a different position.

I ordrered a diva cup now that my AF is back. Hoping I like it.

DS is rolling all over the place and sticking everything he can get his hands on in his mouth. I guess the age of hazards is upon us! And he's driving me crazy by trying to squeeze my breasts while he nurses, which unlatches him, hurting me and frustrating him. Argh! But he's cute. And he giggles now, which I love.

Re: more kids. I love our four year spacing. I don't think I personally would be able to enjoy my kids if they were any closer together. It's a personal decision. I don't like hectic-ness, and I wouldn't do well in a situation where all my energy had to be spent supervising two tiny ones at the same time, strapping two car seats, etc. Plus I get soooo sick during the first part of pregnancy, I couldn't take care of a really small person while pregnant. I like the way my big kid is old enough to do many things independently and can even help with the baby. We'll have one more, but we'll wait until DS turns three before we even start to think about it.

Continued
As for myself....I am more focused on losing the rest of the pregnancy weight now. I have only lost the initial 20 pounds that dropped off in the first 2 weeks and since then, only another pound or so.

I have re-strengthened my leg, thigh butt muscles (doing a long walk that contained two sets of 100 steps around the neighbourhood). I will continue that as well as focus on my abs. I had tried sit-ups earlier on but it hurt my pelvic bone area. I have just started to do them a few days ago and things seem fine now. My initial goal is to make sure I do some every day , then I will increase the exercises. And then hopeful/maybe after a month I will have lost some more weight.

And for fun...I lost my eyeglasses a few years ago. I finally got a new prescription (in the winter) and just got around to finding some new frames last week. They should be ready today or tomorrow - I got two pairs, as I couldn't narrow it down to one. I am excited about being able to see better and for the new frames (fashion note: a few years ago, frames were mostly cat eye style, now they are all rectangular!)

Thanks! But he wasn't miserable or too hot at all- that's just his serious expression!

oh and no AF yet... baby is nursing ALL night long, so who knows when that will come. Can you guess based on your mother?

Yay! I got sleep last night! DS only woke up twice in between 12am and 7:30am. This is a big improvement from the every 30 min to 1 hr wakings he has been having for the past month or so. He is over 5 mo now! How crazy is that? We definitely hit the four month sleep regression and I was so sad that it might last for a long time but it is looking like he *might* go back to something more like before. I would be happy with every 2-3 hours. He is starting to get over his cold too. Did the breast milk up the nose and seemed to help, he hated it though- more the suctioning after
AF- not sure? It seemed like it at 3 and 4 mo pp b/c I had red bleeding and some spotting days for weeks after but idk. I was just happy to stop my random weird spotting and stop wearing pads!
DS is squealing, rolling, yelling, chattering, grabbing, bouncing, scooting, loving life and so cute! He has started to growl, bite down and turn his head to the side when nursing. Hurts and he doesn't even have teeth yet! I have figured out how to kind of stop it before it happens. Seems to be when he has gas or isn't very hungry.
More kids....we definitely want more, planning on both biological and adopted which will kind of dictate the spacing since I want to also breastfeed the babies I adopt. We will have more spacing between 1 and 2 than 2 and 3 because we are getting used to it and moving to NY for DH's job. The first couple of years will be intense for DH and we really don't want him to miss out on things more than he has to. Trying to find places in NY right now, a little exciting and very overwhelming. We move the end of sept so we have a little bit of time

with me on father's day
"reading" in the high chair- katie we have same high chair!
with dad on father's day

It is actually hard to get smiling pictures now because he moves so much when he is laughing/smiling. Really enjoying this time now and feeling so much better than last week! DH has been able to pitch in more with helping and DS is sleeping more so seems like we are past that hurdle, sigh

Lauren- I can't seem to see the pictures?

I am having fun with the updates, no one else has a baby the same age as mine that I am close to here so it is funny to be like "yeah! that's my guy too!"

They work for me! She is a doll

We are off to Turin, Italy this weekend so Iago will be in for some Italian loving it seems. haha
A few weeks ago I was accosted by an Italian tourist who spotted me walking across the square wearing Iago. She screamed with delight and ran at me! Those Italian grandmas sure love their little babies.

I hope summer is here to stay! We've got tons of summer clothes and I hate having to bundle him up.
