Swim Diaper Rules

I am hoping/planning to take our family to a waterpark this summer. I don't have an actual swim diaper right now but I need something before we go. Anyway I was reading reviews on Imse Vimse swim dipes and someone said that the lifeguard at her pool would not let her child go in the pool in it and she is stuck using sposies!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that not the stupidest thing?!?!?!?
So now I am afraid about waterparks, what are the rules?

honestly I would call up or look up the information for the parks you'll be visiting. I have seen signs at some water parks that state only disposable swim diapers allowed. Im assuming because they are changed out when soiled? And some that simply state swim diapers must be used, which leaves it up for interpretation. unless you CD or have any experience with them most swim diapers look very much like regular CD which oh course would not be allowed in the water which I can see why some teenager would get confused as to what is a swim diaper or reg. diaper. We have also gone to parks where there was also a height restriction meaning that everyone under x height were required to wear a swim dipe regardless of whether they were still in dipes or not.

I would check with the facilities. There is no good reason to insist on disposable swim diapers except lack of knowledge. That said, many facilities sell the disposables at the desk so I personally would go with my cloth swim diaper & if they made a big deal about it I'd purchase one for that visit.

Well, if you have a boy, can you just put swim trunks over your cloth swim diaper? I don't think they'd ask to see what's inside.

If you have a girl, I suppose you could still go the swim trunks route...not sure what little girls wear in the pool over their swim dipes (if anything).

Maybe if you buy a white swim diaper instead of a colored/patterned one no one would notice, as disposables are usually white...? Not sure who sells white ones, but I think I've seen them online somewhere.

I'm all for circumventing a silly rule like that.

I emailed the park a few days ago and haven't heard back. We don't have a date set of when we are going anyway.
