I had posted a thread a few days ago and I can't find it anywhere. I was wondering if putting eggs (and other foods) in the hair really helps? Mine is very dry and damaged. I have also heard that dying it can actually help. Is this true? Thank you for any information.

Well it depends on several factors:
Your hair type
Your water type
If you use product/blow dry/ etc
Lots of mamas on this forum use no-poo which is worth doing a search for. It basically uses baking soda and vinegar instead of shampoo to help heal hair and scalp. Other mamas swear by doing a conditioner-only regimen, but that usually uses a non-food product.
I have had luck using olive oil hotpacks, coconut oil packs, and avocado oil packs. I know that the protein in eggs is supposed to be great for hair, but I don't like the risk of ending up with scrambled egg if the rinse water is too hot. I have scalp issues so I usually add rosemary oil to the oilpack to clear my scalp.
Hair dye damages your hair over time so I wouldn't consider that a solution. Henna maybe if you are ready for a long-term commitment.
