Do you have property within two hours of NYC?

My small family (me, hubby and almost 3 yr old son) own a 8'x20' tiny-house trailer and we are looking for a place to park it for a few weeks (up to a month if possible) before we move with it. We would be staying in it for about half of the time it's parked, and would prefer if we had access to an outlet to plug into (for electricity in the tiny house).

Although money is kind of tight for us until we get re-settled, we would be able to offer something in return, whether that be some kind of work trade or a bit of money. We would definitely cover any electric we use beyond any other agreement we work out. We're also open to the idea of freely parking on the property

We are a positive, respectful and considerate little family and would be very appreciative of anyone open and able to share their space in this way.

Thanks for reading/considering....

be well,
gusty

I'm nowhere even close to NY, but I had to comment that your little house is just adorable! What a sweet little thing. I hope you find a place to park!

Too bad you are looking to be in NY as I have loads of room at my property (10 acres) in VT.

I used to live 1 1/2 hours from NYC and I have lots of family there. Just not sure if any are wanting any visitors at the moment. Have you tried posting on the www.hudsonvalleyparents.com forum?

oh thank you bluebirdmama1... for the offer at you land and the heads up about the hudsonvalleyparents forum -- great idea!

we'd certainly love to take you up on the offer to be out on 10 acres in vermont... however we need to be within a reasonable commuting distance from our present home in brooklyn.. so as to easily manage finishing up last minute details on the tiny house before we push off to the Southwest.
Again, thanks... it's much appreciated!

Terrific house.. that's a Tumbleweed? DH and I have fantasies about those.

Unfortunately we're 3+ hours away from NYC, I hope you can find a place soon.

will you be going back and forth everyday? I'm about 3 hours from NYC on a couple acres in CT.

Check out Libertyville Farm for a place to park. Billiam is the nicest farmer and well known throughout the area. He was even recently on Martha Stewart.
Right near the train station to NYC.

we actually have it parked about 3 hours from the city now.. and it's just too long of a drive to make quick jaunts. although we won't be commuting daily, we'd like it to be under a two hour drive. Thanks so much for considering us.

it's not and it is a tumbleweed house. ours was built by jay shafer, the man behind the tumbleweed operations... however it was custom built for the woman we bought it from. so it isn't a particular tumbleweed model, but it's the same tumbleweed quality. we had also fantasized about them for a while and it just wasn't financially practical until we found this one for sale - it was 4 years old and previously owned/lived in when we bought it last fall.

thanks all!

I'm sending your post to my hudson valley folks to see if anyone want to host you. Meanwhile, where are you landing when you get here to the land of enchantment, and when do you arrive? Maybe we can help on this end, lots of contacts...

Thanks for the support LCBMAX. We did recently find a place nearby to park for a bit... with a very generous MDC family. Yay MDC!

Anywhooo...
We will be landing just south of Albuquerque in the beginning of August. We'll be doing a work trade with a small sustainable farm for a few months... and then... well, we're open to a number of different scenarios playing out.

It would be really great to further connect with you and explore the possibilities... I'll pm you.

thanks again.
