Time for a "Jonah's sensitivities" thread- IgG results post 36 - Page 4

Just wanted to add, for future reference, that I also suspect amines and soy. We're only doing soy as ingredients (ie, soy oil in bread), but I need to focus on it at some point.

Some of the foods I suspect are amine foods- coffee, banana, chocolate, soy sauce. And possibly charred meat once (I can't find another trigger for that reaction). So maybe that's a clue?

awww, thank you so much! I'm either dedicated...or stubborn. lol. But really, I just want to give up but can't. It's sort of depressing to realize that the symptoms will continue whether your done with dealing with it or not. lol I hate the journalling. blech

I actually cut back on supps- I must go back and compare reactions while on them- because of the tingling in my legs and lips. J is getting only a multi, CLO,and Ddrops now. Oh, and a cal/mag/zinc liquid that I give him when I'm in the mood for a struggle. lol

It's really hard to figure out through journalling when there are a bunch of different triggers and symptoms.

eta ffr:

Link found between nickel from diet and hand eczema.

I'm sensitive to metals other than gold and surgical steel. I wonder if this nickel/eczema link could be affecting ds? Maybe a long shot, but...

I just googled it and I guess it could be but I don't find the lady I see listed as a practicioner in the area so I wonder if that is what she does but it could be.  I had never googled NAET until now.

Bluebirdmama, can you elaborate on what the naturopath did to cure your DD of her allergies? If I were to seek similar results how can I search for one such naturopath in/around Seattle? What specialty should I seek? How many sessions did it take your DD?

Sorry to take so long to answer this.  I just saw it.

My dd went 1 time, $43 and the best money spent.  I have never met anyone like her.  All she did was energy tapping and using that to reprogram the body to work better and the way it should.   I have been to so many natural Drs and never saw results like this.  My dd had some dairy free newman o's which she would totally have broken out teribble to and sge had no reactions!!  Next time I see the NP, I will ask her if there are any like her out your wat, but I have got to tell you, probably not as I have looked high anld low.  If this woman were on the other side of the world I would fly her to me (as she does that) or take a trip to her.  If I take my daughter to moe visits, (which I am saving up for), she said she could help work on allergies.  My dd' speech even improved greatly after her work.

Can you elaborate a bit more please? Energy-tapping? How did she do that? AND - where is she located? Can you ask her - if I were to search for a similar doctor around my place what should I be looking for, speciality-wise? Thanks so much.

She is in Vermont.  Yes next time I talk to her I will ask her how to find someone like her...

I'm so excited that you had such great success with her, bluebirdmama. That's fantastic! I hope the other mama's here can find someone that helps them as much!

On the ds front, we cut out citrus (orange was already out) and nightshades (potatoes were already out) a few days ago, and he slept decently well last night.

He did have a big red area all the way from his scrotum to his upper crack last night, with a really red almost welt spot by his anus. He pooped 4 times yesterday (all mostly solid), so I don't know if it's a food reaction, or if it's just from pooping so many times. We did change him right away each time. If it's a food reaction, I have no idea what it could be. hmmm

I read a bit about latex fruit allergies and birch allergies. So far with the foods we strongly suspect, 8 or 9 of them are related to latex allergies. So that's another one for me to look at.

I'm not sure whether to just pick a group and avoid those foods, or to avoid the foods that are common to the most groups. If that makes sense. For example, of the groups I have that I'm considering avoiding (citrus, nightshades, common eczema triggers, ds2's AK results, soy, amines, latex, and birch), citrus is in 4 of those groups, tomato and peanuts are in 5 of them, bell pepper and almonds are in 3, and mushroom, seafood, soy, avocado, and strawberry are in 2. The rest just occur in one group.

So J's eczema is nearly gone everywhere. A little bit left on his shoulder, and his bum cheeks are dry where the eczema used to be. It just occurred to me that we probably haven't eaten soy in a week or two, other than possibly soy oil in our bread (it says it's either canola or soy oil), and soy lecithin, which I've read that both can be ok for those with soy allergies.

We're also on day 5 of an egg trial.

His sleep was out of control until I started b12, and now it's just sort of bad. He's been really tantrummy and fussy the last week or so.  So I'm sort of trading one problem for another. My guess is it's a completely different set of foods that are the problem, and getting out the eczema foods means we're eating something that's a problem for the other stuff.

His poop is actually not too bad, though still mushy.

Day 5 of egg trial, and no reactions thus far. hmmm...

So eggs are a pass, and we might be at baseline. We started eggs with very mild eczema, and by the end of the week the eczema was gone.

Later (or before), we had some MAJOR sleep issues, and I took out a couple of supps, added b12, and stopped eating marshmallows (which I'd used to replace my beloved chocolate), and the sleep issues improved. We still have troubled sleep sometimes, but nowhere near as bad as before.

So we're near or at baseline, there are a few things going on that may or may not be food related- red rashy cheeks (we know that cold dry air triggers red cheeks, but it's happened when he didn't go outside too), pimple like bumps that come and go, and redness in the indent of his top lip. Man, I NEVER thought this day would come.

We haven't had any 100% sure failed trials yet, but I think soy, potato, and spices are fails.
