Puppy training PADS

Has anyone used those absorbant pads that go on the floor in the area you want to teach the puppy to pee/poop on?

I have a dog litter tray, and am thinking about trying them inside the litter tray because they might be more absorbant than just a few sheets of newspaper is. Have you found them very absorbant? How often do you have to change/replace them? Do they get expensive? Did the pee still run under the dog's paws so it got walked onto the floor after they stepped off the pads?

I haven't used them personally but my MIL and FIL use them for their chihuahuas.

Absorbent enough for a couple of chihuahuas, yes.

They change it anytime one gets pooped on. The pee dries and it can be reused if that doesn't gross you out having it in your house. It isn't smelly but does look gross.

I'm not sure how much they spend, but it certainly costs more than newspapers or letting them out in the backyard. They also bother me from a waste standpoint.

No, this isn't a problem (at least for these little dogs quantity of pee).

I had friends who used them with shih zous. One was old and had incontency issues and then they adopted a mother/puppy, but the mother had never been house broken. It worked well!

unless your in an apartment I wouldnt use them. I had my chihuaha pad trained and the transition to going outside was hard.

But, they do work for absorbancy. Buy the pricier ones. I noticed the cheaper ones still let moisture through. one problem with them is that the dog will think they are on the pad but, they are actually on the edge so there is some misfire lol
