I think I have round ligament pain. I've only had it a few times this pregnancy, but it' so random of when it will hurt. And so dibillitating. I have to stop everything and just sit for at least an hour. I can't even move. What I am worried about is it being triggered by labour. I don 't know what I would do if it happend during labour. It is so painful. i wouldn't be able to move or push or anything. anyone had it during labour? I am 37wks now.

I get it very bad too..I have never had it in labor though..I think our babies are just trying to stretch out, its getting cramped in there!

All I can say is... dont worry about straining to push during labor... if you cannot push for whatever reason, your body will push for you. That was the case with DD, they were trying to tell me not to push but my body was pushing on its own.

i'm not worried about being able to push as much as the excrutiating pain while pushing. Or if the contractions trigger the pain. it's just so dibilitating. I cant even move while it's hapening.

Oh it hurts like hell for sure! Sometimes I get them from the position I am sitting in, and cant get up out of a chair or couch until it stops after awhile. But honestly I don't remember ever getting them during labor at all..I was to focused on the ctx to pay any mind to any other type of pain

I've never heard of RLP that lasts for an hour. Mine, and all the other cases I've read about, are triggered by some sort of asymmetrical twisting motion or sharp movement when coughing/sneezing, and go away within 5-10 seconds. Are you sure what you're having is RLP? Does is feel like a stabbing pain in your side kind of near your ovaries that makes you double over? If it is RLP, I don't think you have to worry about it during labour. Might it be some other sort of cramping, though? Perhaps dehydration-related cramping? I'd run it by your carers just to see if they have any other ideas (e.g. UTI).

When I was pregnant with DS I complained of round ligament pains to one of the OB's at the practice when I was like 30 weeks along and she said that you only get round ligament pains in the first tri and it was something else...

Maybe you should call your provider!

Really? I am 39 weeks and get it at least every couple days..anytime I have every brought it up at the dr they just tell me its RLP..maybe I should get crabby at my appointment if your only supposed to get it during the first trimester

I think there are all kinds of RLP. I always get mine in the second trimester, and it only pops up when I am walking. The minute I stop walking, it's fine. This lasts for about 2-3 weeks, and then suddenly it doesn't bother me anymore.

I had RLP a LOT with my dd, but even the worse doozies only lasted a couple minutes.

I just noticed it's been awhile since you posted. Is everything ok?
