eye rubbing

Dd, 6 months, has had 2 ear infections in the past month. She's finishing her antibiotics, but over the past several days, she's been rubbing her eye and pulling off frequently while nursing. Her eyes don't appear red or irritated in any way. Could this be ear-related or is it indicative of something else?

My son does the eye rubbing whenever he's tired.

It's different from that. She doesn't usually do it when she's tired, only when she's nursing and at any time of day.

Maybe nursing is making her sleepy and she is rubbing them as a way of "fighting sleep"?

My 6mo has been doing the same thing. I wondered if it was related to teething because she also seems to pull her ear at the same time.

Maybe this thread would get more responses in Life With a Babe?

My 8 month old does this sometimes when nursing, I am not sure why, but she has always done it. Sometimes she tries to stick her finger in her eye!!
