Toddlers and fans

Thread Starter
We live in a house with no air conditioning and are trying to set it up for summer. What do you do to keep your toddler safe from putting fingers in the fan? We were thinking of trying the Air King 3-Speed Pivoting Blower, which is supposed to move air really well, but doesn't have a spinning blade. Anyone use it?

We use traditional box fans. I never really had a problem with them putting fingers in though-- I explained very carefully, and with a lot of urgency in my voice, that it was really dangerous to do that, that it would hurt your fingers a lot and "owie" them. I let them see that the idea freaked me out and scared me, and they treated the fans with a lot of respect and they still do.

no advice but I just have to say that I thought this thread was going to be about toddlers who are obsessed with fans and my first thought when I saw the title was 'thank god I'm not alone!' my 15month old is OBSESSED with fans!

ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming :

You can get tower fans at walmart, etc that have fan blades inside them, but I don't think little fingers could get to it. We have 3 and love them.
