at the hip I hope your head feels better! As for that lady That would make me move over a few seats. lol

I am so excited about all these babies!!

Yesterday I got a big package from UPS, my lovely aunt bought me a double stroller. She got one off craiglslist for $50 and planned on sending it to me (she is in Wisconsin) she found out that it was going to cost her $106 just to ship it! She she went to Target and bought a new one with free shipping and it was cheaper! Now the kids have a new toy, a BIG box to play with.

I just figured out that someone on my FB with baby pictures is Burnindinner (I think!)!! So I'm pretty sure it's her, and if so she had her baby and he's pretty darn cute! Someone "tagged" her in pictures of him and there's lots of congrats on her page. I saw it yesterday but didn't put 2 and 2 together that that was her real name

yay for gifts!!!

hope your migraine stays away ath! late pregnancy is uncomfortable enough with adding a migraine to the mix.

interestingly i'm contracting. hmmm. very mildly but regularly. i don't think this will lead to labor (and today/tonight would be HIGHLY inconvenient) but it is nice that 'things' are headed in the right direction at least.

mediumcrunch You know the baby is gonna come when its least convient right? its the law of having babies I keep meaning to ask you what the ratio of boys and girls are in your family?

I am scheduled to work all the way through saturday, so baby needs to stay in now lol..

I hope burnindinner had her baby!!

I am so thrilled to see all these announcements!! Even if I don't feel any closer to baby yet myself!!

So I had a few hours of respite yesterday only to wake at 3am with a new aura and another migraine. I just feel like giving up since I can't even make it 24 hours. I was really hoping that the steroids would do the trick and allow me to leave the headaches behind me and focus on baby coming! I have an appointment with the mw tomorrow and then on Friday I'll probably go to the clinic as well, and we'll see how things go.

If this baby can just wait until Sunday it would be quite nice. I have one boy leaving tonight and another leaving on Saturday. My friend who is going to go to the hosp with dh and I is in Dallas until Saturday. So baby, stay in...until Sunday and then you are free to go

This baby is the tie breaker. I currently have 4 girls and 4 boys. Max will make boy #5.

Birth order: g,b,b,g,g,b,g,b,b

That is so incredibly awesome! My Dh really wanted a big family; but we are stopping at #4. I am feeling to old to do this anymore (im 33, so not old but just feel like it!) and this one will be the balance of b/g here so I am done.

Quick update: I just told my Dad about our planned homebirth, and he surprised me by being totally 100% supportive!! Thank you neldabean for the encouragement! I feel so much better now, it was a huge relief.

Ryder joined our family Monday the 7th at 9:20 am. He weighed 9 lbs and was 21". i was in labor the last time i posted, just didnt realize it. Then we had a quick 24 hour trip to the hospital due to the little man possibly swallowing mec. I'll update more when i have free hands!

Congratulations, aka mommy!! Great news!!
aka mommy I just read your birth story! It was wonderful!!

Globalmama that must have felt really great to get out in the open - with support from your dad, even!

I had an appt today with my backup mw who is also an ND...so I was able to talk to her about the last couple weeks of migraines as well as my hospital trip. She's set me up with some rosemary cream on my face a few times a day, as well as adding liquid magnesium to the mix - she's hoping this will do the trick in calming things down for me but made sure to let me know to call her if they continue. How sweet is that? I feel much more upbeat today instead of just resigned and tired, so I think I really needed the encouragement today.

Baby and I look good...she thinks he's already getting close to the tail end of 8 or start of 9 lbs - not surprising. Actually I've really felt a growth spurt this week and his butt is feeling *pudgy*!! He's been hanging out anterior for a couple days and I'm hoping he'll stay that way!

The weather is supposed to finally be moving into sunshine again instead of this very volatile system we have right now that is messing with my headaches. SOOOO let's hope that's the case and between the cream, magnesium and the weather...I can get ready to meet my little guy soon!!!

at the hip...I hope you are able to get past the headaches...that must be miserable! It sounds like you have some good support, though, which is good!

We had a MW appt today. I'm 40+2 today. I was checked, and now I'm up to a 3, which is progress over last week. She said I'm about 50% effaced, so that is improvement, too. Plus, she said the cervix is really, really soft. Baby's head is so far down that it pushed the cervix back, and she had a hard time reaching it. But, overall, she said things are looking good. My next appt is next Friday. I really hope I don't need it!

Baby really seems to be pushing down these last couple days, so I'm hoping she'll just keep on pushing and pushing. ;-)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thread Starter
at the hip, what a journey you've had lately. I hope the new regimen works! And for the lady in the ER, I think I would probably tell her it looks like she's controlling herself well, so good job. But I used to intern as a social worker in the psych department of the hospital.

Well, did have a baby! I only had my husband's blackberry at the hospital and I can NOT type on that thing. I felt great, super fast labor as you saw. Oh except for the part where labor SUCKS and is painful. But we went home the next day and have been hanging out.

I forgot about the erratic nature of the newborn. The first two nights were pretty typical, then tonight he's been up every 1-2 hrs with lots of pooping. My milk is coming in and my husband is sawing logs, so not a lot of sleep for me. My in-laws are here overnight, and I feel a little encroached on. But DH said it is really helpful for him to have them here, and they really are great ILs. I am just looking forward to a little just the 4 of us time today.

OK, so it's quarter to six. I'm going to try to go back to sleep. I've caught up reading the thread now, so it is not quite so intimidating.

Did you know newborn poop can squirt pretty far?

Hey hope all the PP mammas are feeling well and enjoying and their babymoons!

And I hope everyone in the still pregnant club is finding peace and zen while playing the waiting game!

Not much happening here, lotsa BH type stuff, pressure, cm etc..no baby just yet..go to the OB today, hoping they can give me something for this cough that wont quit. I think I managed to bruise a rib or something from coughing sooo much or I am sleeping weird, It hurts when I cough, move or lay down..loads of fun! But my mantra to my body when those bh ctx start kicking in has been "ok look, either your gonna do something or your not, if not stop wasting my time and putting me in pain" It seems to be more productive than timing for hours on end and then tapering off to the point I get frustrated!

Still working mad hours, Pulled a 12 hour shift yesterday after 1 person had to leave early, and my relief had to call off..my next day off is wednesday, so if baby wants to be really nice it would be great if she came on tuesday evening. If not then well i continue to work til I drop I s'pose. At least its giving me something to do besides stare at the calendar wondering which day the baby will make her appearance. The only real suck butt thing about working from home is as an IC I don't get a paid maternity leave..sure I can take days off but working on commission, a day or 2 is one thing but more than that and bills dont get paid So I am looking forward in a way to my 24 hour hospital stay, nothing but me and baby bonding and relaxing! I am sure this is gonna change though since I hate the freaking hospital and am usualy begging to go home an hour after I give birth but maybe if I look at it like a mini-vacation it wont be so bad this time around.

When dd was only a few days old my mother was changing her in the crib. She took Katie's diaper off and Katie promptly squirted yellow newborn poo and managed to spray the bumper pads (yes, it was my first, 17 years ago and I had the 'perfect' little crib set up)
Should have taken that as a sign of what she thought of her crib

I'm a total idiot - i JUST realised that i can still weekly chat even though i'm not pregnant anymore! What a dope!

Not that i have time to post much. Everything here is fine, perineum a bit tender still (i think either i have a small bartholin's cyst growing, OR it's always been there but for some reason is only now pulling in the scar from where DD was born), i can sit but if i kegel there's a dull ache. DD is feeding masses, she was 8lbs8oz at birth and on day 5 she had the PKU and we weighed her to see if she'd lost too much (though i didn't think she would have) and she was 8lbs11oz! Little piggy! She's so lovely, i'm thrilled to bits with her. I was CONVINCED she was a boy and she's such a perfect little darling girl! I have a theory that i couldn't tell because i couldn't feel past the knot in her cord....lol.

We're about to take DD1 to her dad's now, so i'd better go. *mama moose* my Camille has been squalling and squalling to tell your little one the eviction is ON, so i hope s/he heard and you're freshly post-partum right now! Thinking of you tons DDbuddy! xxx

Hi everyone!

I am so happy it seems everyone is doing well atm! I've been trying to catch up on birth stories and write about Karina's, but we are struggling in the nursing dept, and that is keeping me really busy. I'm 110% determined to BF, and producing enough, but she has a very bad latch, so now I'm pumping manually every 2 hrs (which is killing my arms) and feeding her via syringe. She's a hungry little monster, and perfect in every other way. Today a LC came over and taught me some exercises to do w/her to train her to latch on better. I think it's working! Can't wait for my nips to heal and to try BF again.

Hot, muggy, and stormy here. Thank God for A/C and for milkshake happy hour at Steak & Shake. We are enjoying holing up in my bedroom and staying cool.

Boo for perineum tenderness. I had 3 tears and was stitched for over an hour...I'm so sore down there, I can hardly move. Today it is slightly better.

I also want to say I LOVE the Fisher Price "Rock & Play Sleeper". She loves it. We swaddle her and lay her in it to nap so I can be up and taking care of myself, and I can rock it w/my foot while I eat. It's also great b/c our hounddog can sniff and kiss her, but he can't overwhelm her. At night she sleeps on my chest and we both seem to sleep better that way. She was in every dream I had last night.

Time to pump, feed, eat, pee, and take another nap! That's all I do these days.
