Zone five, shady until 1pm -- what can I plant?

My front yard faces west and has a big (city) tree next to the street, so it only gets sun from about half the day, if that. I would LOVE to put some berry bushes in the front but don't know of any that don't require full sun. Is there anything I can plant would be perennial and yield food?

I am thinking strawberries might do just fine in those conditions; they seem like kind of an understory plant naturally. mine were growng in partial shade initially, but in their second year the landlord removed a tree and so now they are in full sun and are amazing prolific. but they seemed like they were doing quite well before the tree was removed, and had already sent out daughters and granddaughters and had spread a great deal.
not exactly food, per se, but a great and beautiful tea herb i have had nice luck with in shade is bee balm.
don't know about blueberries, which might be happy there, but i used to frequent some woods that had tons of huckleberries (small bushes) growing in the woods between big trees, so i dont think they would ever have gotten full sun.
