What container do you use for your water/vinegar solution?

I've been trying to use more natural cleaning solutions, so several months ago I started using a vinegar and water solution for general cleaning. I use eight parts water to one part vinegar. The problem is that two different plastic spray bottles containing the solution have stopped working. It's so frustrating that I'm on the point of going back to the expensive store-bought stuff that comes in a fail-proof bottle!

Do you think that the solution is causing to plastic to erode or something similar? What do you use to hold your solution for easy cleaning?

Thanks!
Lisa

I use a spray bottle I found in the isle with the brooms and mops. I don't think your solution is affecting it, I think you just either got a crappy bottle or a dud. I have used the same bottle for a yr and I do half and half of the vinegar and water. My spray bottle cost I think 96 cents. It was cheap.

I agree, it's probably the bottle. I've gone through a lot of bottles, and I finally found one that lasted a long time, and actually worked well. Then my husband broke it :/
I think a lot of them are just made badly.
I washed one of the Clorox Green bottles, and put the rest of my vinegar/water in that, and it's been working well.
Maybe check out Bed Bath and Beyond?

I found my spray bottle in the indoor gardening section of walmart. It says "Plant Smart E-Z Sprayer" and it works the best out of all the ones I've tried. It was $2 or less.

I've left mixtures of cleaning solutions in it for months and it still works and doesn't get clogged or anything.

HTH!!

I have the large 32oz spray bottle from The Container Store and love it! I've never had any leaks or clogs with it. I use a 50/50 vinegar/water solution.

I now use the bottle from seventh generation all-purpose cleaner - and it works super well. The cheapie empty ones you can buy didn't work well for very long (maybe b/c we have hard water?). I've had the same one now for at least a year, and it sprays great.

I have been using my vinegar and water in an old Windex bottle for over 5 years.
