Has anyone waited until after they were showing to tell people?

I just found out last week that I was pregnant. It was a huge surprise.

In the past 10 days I have grown ALOT and can not wear any of my clothes. NONE. I am guessing it is because this is my third pregnancy?????? I looked at pictures and my belly is the same as it was at about 5.5 months with my first. Which is crazy.

I really wanted more time before telling people.

BUT....it is getting pretty obvious...even through a big shirt and sweat pants.

Now I feel weird telling people something that, to me, is obvious.

Anyone else?

We didn't tell people until about 20 weeks, and I was already in maternity clothes by then. I think some people were suspicious, and I know I was showing, but it takes a lot of nerve to ask a woman at that stage (what if she's just gained weight??). No one asked me outright until I was about 25 weeks along.

We did make some exceptions...the immediate family on both sides knew, as did my close friends. Neighbors, teachers, other relatives--no.

We did it because we wanted to tell our kids first, but wanted to wait until afte we knew the amnio/genetic results. Also, my last pregnancy was a m/c, and I didn't feel like un-telling a bunch of people.

We didn't tell anyone this time except our immediate family until I was 18 weeks or so. It is my 5th pregnancy (4th that went past 8 weeks). The bloat went down about 8-9 weeks or so. I had a m/c with my 4th pregnancy and I didn't want to have to un-tell people. Plus...when someone tells me that they're pregnant at 4-5weeks, it seems like their pregnancy goes on FOREVER! So I wanted to save my family some impatient agony.

I am on baby #3 and also was bloated from around BFP through to 8-10 weeks-ish... then after it went down, baby belly started coming on right away!

But really unless you are a couple months along, I wouldnt worry much about it being baby belly just yet!

I told dp and my best friend and my mom.. but I did not tell my dad nor my coworkers until I was showing.. some people I see EVERY DAY still didn't know until I was about 7 or 8 months along..

One guy told me I had to lay off the fried pork.

I told only parents and very close friends at around 14 weeks when I started to show. Everyone else had to guess for themselves. I think it wasn't until after 20 weeks that people started to assume/ask if I was pregnant. Even now, anyone who hasn't seen the belly for themselves doesn't know.
