EBF 8wk old DD hasn't pooped for 3 days

Her last bm was friday. I am lactose-intolerant and unknowingly ate something with a lot of dairy and became ill. I ate some anti-diarrheal medicine and I know its approved by the AAP but I am worried since it has been so long. Should I be worried, should I call the doctor? Am I overreacting?
Thanks in advance

Unless she seems uncomfortable, she's probably fine. Around that age many EBF babies start to poop less often (sometimes only every 10 days or so!). As long as when she does poop it's the normal consistency (not hard), and she's not straining, uncomfortable, then there's nothing to worry about.

Norm Norm normal

This is sooo common with EBF kids. Laura (4 mts) is 3-4 days regularly and has pooped on the 5th. One theory on this is because EBF poop is so soft that it does not create enough pressure on the anus to let out until there is enough for a blow-out. Day 4-5 if still nothing and you are comfortable with it--a tinge of vasoline on a butt thermometer to stimulate the anus (oh so gentle and for just a few seconds) may do the trick or 1/2 glycerine suppository, but if baby is not acting uncomfortable, you should be alright as baby is most likely fine.

I agree totally normal! If I were you I wouldn't worry.

Totally normal. DD did the same thing. She went a whole week without pooping and then when she did, watch out. Since then she is an every 3-4 day pooper and goes 2-3 times on the days that she does go.

TY for all the reassurance, my mothering instinct told me she was in pain since saturday she wasnt acting right & later that day she exhibited those signs non stop. I ended up taking her temp rectally to stimulate her muscles down there and it worked like a charm! I would have never imagined so much poop coming out of such a tiny body! She was so relieved and pooped 2x in the next couple of hours, shes back to her happy self again! YAY!!! Thanks again MDC mamas
