breastfeeding picture censored

This is my first time posting but when i saw this in the news i wanted to write about it. The actress Julie Bowen was a guest on "the View" recently where she talked about breastfeeding her twins simultaneously. the proud mom wanted to show a picture of her sons nursing but was not allowed to do so. When she appeared on "the George Lopez show" he showed the picture. It's just amazing to me that breastfeeding is still so taboo and yet every photo from the MTV music awards is flashing breasts or legs in every shape and form. Somehow that has become acceptable and what's natural is not.

Just recently i attended my son's kindergarten graduation where he did a dance to "I'm a Barbie Girl in a Barbie World". 5 yr olds dancing to lyrics like "You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere" and "make me walk, make me talk do whatever you please. I can act like a star i can beg on my knees" Children are being forced to grow up too soon and adults are acting like children.

I totally agree that society has it all backwards. I would've pitched a fit about that song-in any school program at any age- as well. Completely inappropriate.

the women on the view said it was ABC who refused to show the pic. i really think it was the women on the view that had an issue with it. i posted on the view's fb page but never got a response.

Just another reason for me not to watch The View. I really can't stand that show, anyway.

It's The View. It's all the same women who will walk up to you in a restaurant and tell you to cover up. Barbara Walters has made public comments about being offended by moms nursing in public. I. will. not. watch. that. show. EVER.

I went here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_580757.html and saw the picture. There is a lot of exposed skin, but that is not anything new, except of course having humans attached to the boobies... I am writing to ABC right now about it via this contact form. http://abc.go.com/site/contact-us I encourage anyone to write in how they feel, this is how we change minds and the world.

I so feel you on this subject! Sometimes I wish I lived in a culture where a woman breastfeeding in public was the everyday norm. Wouldnt that be nice My goal is to raise my son with the understanding to respect woman not only seeing them as sexual objects and understanding that breastfeeding is beautiful

We can change the future today with our children!

i am not a fan of the view either. but i think the thing that's really interesting to note is that when Julie bowen was on "the george lopez show" she began feeling uncomfortable with how long he kept the picture up. So she was just proud of being able to nurse twins not, in my opinion, out to shock anyone.
