That's great! Sometimes when we think outside the box, our kids surprise us with what they will eat.
He could totally be buddies with my DS. He loves sardine burgers

yeah, the nd we saw for ds for eczema recommend feeding him sardines so i bought some but was too grossed out to offer them until we had a stray cat on our stoop crying for food so i opened them to feed her and ds ate the entire can.... supposedly they are full of calcium and all sorts of good stuff!

We started doing it because DH eats Kipper Snacks (another small oily fish in a can). One night several months ago DS was begging for a bite (he gets offended if you eat and don't share) so I said, "Give him some. He'll probably hate it." Yeah...I was wrong. He loves the little stinky fish.

jealous! I wish DD would eat sardines. I love them! I will try them in eggs but she barely will eat eggs anyway.

I wonder if my son would eat them. There's not much he doesn't like. When we were at a wedding, he was really digging the crab cakes and calamari.
Do you cook the sardines or eat them right out of the package? I don't like fish so I never think to buy it for DS.

You could eat them out of the can, they just don't have much flavour that way. DS prefer them made like salmon burgers - add an egg yolk (I find a whole egg is too much liquid) , some flour (or crumbs if you're not gluten free) & seasoning and fry them.

I usually just pop open the can...

I've never thought to do this!

My son is allergic to dairy, which thankfully these days, is not a death sentence as far as alternatives.

I have found vegan cheese in Chedder, mozzerella, and monteray jack. They also have slices of american for puttin on sandwhiches. Ive tried them all, i can tolerate the monteray, but the rest, :bleck. I use the chedder to make him mac and cheese. OMG, he wolfs it like someone is going to take it away! Grilled cheese sandwhich with the american? GONE!

Guess when youve never had the real thing, the alternative is just as good!
