Junk removal - cleaning out garage

What to do with the junk? Can we, like, rent a commercial dumpster and have it hauled off? There's too much to 'sneak' into our regular trash, and a few things are pretty big.

And I would LOVE to get it all done in one big swoop.

Yes you can rent a bin. Just fill it and they'll take it away for you.

Or you could freecycle everything. It's amazing what people will take. Or go real simple and just put in on the driveway with a "free" sign on it.

We just did this... I did NOT want to hire a dumpster (both because I hate to waste & because they are crazy expensive) but that's probably the easiest & fastest option. What we did though was list everything on freecycle for a week or so, then dragged whatever was left out to the curb. Almost everything was gone by the end of the weekend & the last few things (minus 1 or 2 that we are sneaking into regular trash) went by about 2 weeks later. Didn't like having all the junk in front of my house but it was great to get rid of stuff in a more sustainable way. Oh and I also made a pile of the smaller, better condition items and dropped them off at Salvation Army.

You can, but if you have a landfill nearby, it would probably be cheaper to haul it there yourself if you're able.

I'd put it on craigslist and freecycle first.
