Mothering hosts threads on gentle weaning and gentle discipline. Just as we wouldn't allow a thread suggesting putting lemon juice or another foreign substance on a child's tongue to curb them from an unwanted behavior, we don't host threads that suggest putting a foul-tasting substance on the breast to curb them from breastfeeding. We can certainly host threads about weaning that don't involve suggestions that involve violating a child's integrity by tricking them into ingesting foreign substances as a means of weaning them from breastfeeding.
