I can't nurse all the time anymore. I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant and it HURTS most of the time. He's too young to understand WHY I'm saying, "no" and just cries. It breaks my heart to have to tell him no...but, for example, if he nurses all evening then there's no milk to nurse to sleep. I usually "cut him off" around 5pm and then not again until bedtime a few hours later.

Any ideas? I offer food or water or a sippy with milk...but he's not dumb he wants mama-milk

When I needed to wean for a medical reason, our DS2 learned to lay down with me to snuggle, while having a sippy cup of soy milk, and with his hand down my shirt. It may sound odd but he was very comforted by this. It also helped me to feel less like I was taking something away, or at least that I was taking it away as gently as possible.
