Is it allowed in FL to have a homebirth with twins?

I am 27weeks into my pregnancy with twins and I was wondering if it is legal in Fl to have a homebirth in my case?? I went to a midwife service already and they say it goes againts their policy but did not explain well if it was only them or if is there a law in FL that doesn't llow this? Does somebody know??
Thanks,
Isabel

It may depend on the type of midwife you seen. In my state CNM aren't allowed to attend homebirth or twins or breeches. Many still do, but their license if found out could be revoked.

I don't think its illegal to homebirth twins, just may have difficulty finding someone who will take you. Keep looking around

We will be homebirthing twins in late nov/dec. (I'm in MI)

You are going to have a problem finding a homebirth midwife to deliver twins. I'm pretty sure the law is against it (here in FL.) I remember talking to my midwife about it last time around (out of curiousity) and she said she could lose her license for *knowingly* attending a twin birth at home.

Maybe you could find a birth center that you could birth in? Or travel somewhere more twin homebirth friendly? Otherwise there is always UC!

Maybe keep the fact that it is twins on the DL?

Any midwife worth her snuff is gonna figure that one out quick, although it can't hurt to try!

Well just because it isn't allowed doesn't mean there isn't midwives who don't do it! GOOD LUCk!

I agree. It's illegal in our state, but there are midwives who will go under the radar if they feel it's a good healthy pregnancy--they just can't go with you to the hospital if something goes wrong, ect...(in other words, you were UCing or just too dumb to realize how far along in labor you were, ect...).

So have you found out any information?

I looked up the regulations.

(6) The midwife shall transfer a patient if any of the following conditions occur during the pregnancy:
...
(b) Multiple gestation.
