Aagggghh! Seven month old fell out of bed...

She usually sleeps in between dh and me. I have no idea how she got to the edge of the bed, but she fell off last night. She just started doing all kinds of rolling and crawling and sitting up, so maybe she was practicing in bed? I am usually a light sleeper though, so I can't believe that I missed her moving around.

I am feeling really bad about this. We were just talking last week about how we needed a rail or she needs to sleep in her crib. I feel like the worst mother in the world. She cried pretty hard for about two minutes and then seemed fine. We called the doctor and he said watch for lethargy or vomiting, but that she's probably ok.

Oh mama this happens at least once to everyone unfortunately. Her fall will hurt you more than her in the long run .

My son started to roll around in bed all of the sudden last month so we got a crib and sidecarred it. We were quite surprised because he use to be such a calm sleeper, but suddenly became a sleeping-helicopter.

ETA: You're obviously one of the best moms in the world!

It happens to everyone. Babies fall. Luckily they're made of rubber

Made of rubber. Yep, that's true! All mine fell out of bed, and all survived quite well. Hurt me more than it hurt them, really.

both of my kids took a couple tumbles. We now have our bed placed on the ground, so a "tumble" off the bed is all of 8 inches, lol!

I know it's an awful feeling, but I'm sure it's happened to every co-sleeping family at least once! (twice to us, the first time prompted us to get the bed rails, the second time we had just moved and we thought since our baby was a little older we didn't need to put them up right away - he's thriving and as smart and strong as ever) The best thing you can do is install some bedrails, forgive yourself and move on.

Thanks for the reassurance, mamas! Of course she was totally fine and I can't even find a bruise on her body.

We're going to put the mattress on the ground. I'm pretty sure she would find a way around any rail I put up. I'm sort of glad this happened because it alerted me to the fact that she's starting to pull herself up, so I lowered her crib mattress so she can't fling herself out of that bed too! I think I'm raisin' up a little dare devil. (Glad she's made of rubber ).

It definately happens to everyone, no matter how much you try to keep it from happening. As long she's fine, don't let it get you down.

Just happened to us too this week. I think DH was the most traumatized out of all of us! The weird this was I was dreaming that he was going to roll off a split second before he did.

Yep, happened to us last week. I felt horrible. . .but he seemed/seems fine. We are moving mattress to the floor though.
