I have a 15.5-month-old and my PP periods began at 13 months. I'm pretty sure I have ovulated twice since then, but my LP is super short (like a week or less). I'm having pretty short cycles altogether, it seems. I don't chart, just watch CM. Anyway, we don't have sex often, as we're usually pretty tired and we co-sleep, but when we do, we don't use anything. I would consider amping up the "efforts" (the ball seems to be in my court), but I've always planned on nursing my son until he weaned naturally - 3-4 years I always thought. I am afraid if I get pregnant, he will wean too early. My pregnancy with him was awful, nausea-wise, but I feel healthier now than when I got pregnant, which I hope might help. I'd like to lose 20 pounds, too. So, I guess, I'm borderline avoiding, but would actually like to have a 2 or 2.5 year age gap if I can manage to nurse through pregnancy. That is my number one concern. My son is pretty high needs, but also delightful, and I would love to give him a close sibling. Since we aren't avoiding, I guess it is possible, but I don't think I'm quite fertile yet. We're playing it by ear...
Anyone else in this position - kinda wanting to conceive, but also not wanting to risk losing a great toddler nursing relationship?
I should add, it took us 14 months to conceive our son, so I'm wary of actively avoiding, you know?
