Do your kids have a washboard? Do they use it/like it? Do you use it for washing also? Maybe not for everyday... but for prewashing?

most important... which one/where did you buy ?

We bought a kid's sized washboard from Nova and the kid's used to play with it daily. I also got a huge wash bowl from Nova, and I strung a clothes line across the kitchen at their eye level. They'd wash their dolls clothing and stuff like that, and then hang them on the line to dry. It was a bit messy, but we had wood floors and I'd just lay some towels under the dripping clothing. They'd play "washing" forever and I could get stuff done. Honestly I think we could have done without the washboard and just had them hand washing stuff in the huge bowl and they'd have had just as much fun.

my mother gave us a thrifted washing board years ago. it is used in play for washing and for music making and now it is also used for our wet felting projects.

I have been loving the time DS and I spend together washing laundry! Its so peacefully rhythmic. I wash our cloth diapers by hand and DS usually washed his play silks, and doll clothes. He really enjoys the work of it. I bought both our washboards from http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...Id=48564766694 mine is the "maid rite" size and DS has the "dubl handi", its perfect for him.

Ours is from a garage sale. Like pp said, wet felting is how we expect to use ours more. Ds's never got into it for washing but since we're homesteading and have a washing machine, we aren't ever lacking for work and washing we gratefully use the machine for. But we will be using it some in our two week block preparing for starting the flute...using it to echo rhythms, etc. Lehman's sells a variety of washboards.
