help with interpreting speech and lang scores, please!

Ds had a cursory speech and lang eval before the big one he's getting for his Asperger's assesment. I'm afraid I don't know what it means that he has above average percentile ranks on every test and subtest, but low percentile ranks on his overall scores. Help!

Results of CELF-4 (scaled and standard scores first; percentiles in brackets)

Concepts and Following Directions 15 (95)
Word Structure 13 (84)
Recalling Sentences 17 (99)
Formulated Sentences 16 (98)

Word Classes Receptive 13 (84)
Expressive 13 (84)
Total 13 (84)

Core Language 82 (12)
Expressive Language 87 (19)

I don't understand! Did she mess up the numbers in the last two by mistake, or do these results tell you something?

It does look like maybe the last two were slipped, especially looking at the other scores.

My daugher's scores on that same test for Core Language showed 17 (66) the 17 was scaled score, and the 66 standard score it was also marked as 1% and Severe

her scores for Expressive showed 16 under Scaled Score, and 73 under standard score, it was marked 3% and moderate.

There should be more telling you more about the scores and break down and talk about what was done during that test and how your son responded to some of the questions they asked him.

Thanks for the reply. Right now, I don't have any other information because they are waiting until the whole assessment process is complete to make recommendations, etc. I wonder if either she switched the numbers, or she didn't delete another child's scores from a template, maybe?

That, or I just don't understand all the data that goes into the final scores...
