trouble with thirsties cover fit

I know everyone raves about thirsties covers, but I seem to be having the problem of the tabs coming pretty far down on ds's thigh.. so when I fasten the diaper snugly, it's almost restricting full movement of his legs.
He's 13.5 pounds, 23 inches, wearing a size small.
Am I doing something wrong to cause it to fit like this, or is that just how it is, and I should try a different cover once he's ready to get mobile so he's more free?

I think I know what you mean, and we have that problem some now too, Sometimes I like more 'bikini' fit diaper covers or I just make sure to fasten it higher up. It's stretchy and has a lot of give so it really won't restrict his leg movement IMO, it just looks that way right now. Also I'd say that your lo will be in smalls for a while longer so you'll surely notice a difference in how they fit as they get smaller on him

I agree that is how Thirsties sized covers fit. I like the fuller cut, but if you don't, you may just want to try different covers.

Easy to find and comparable in price are Bummis. What else have you tried?
