Has anyone tried any fruit on pizza other than pineapple?

Just that.

One of DS's most favourite foods is homemade pizza with peppers and pineapple. We've recently found out that he is sensitive (or allergic?) to pineapple. He would dearly love a pizza, and because he is resistant to the whole not-eating-pineapple idea, I thought maybe I could try another fruit "just for fun." Nothing comes to mind. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Pears with gorgonzola.
Apples would be good too!

I think you could try any fruit that went well with cheese. Then just adjust other ingredients appropriately.
dates
figs
raisins
apples

I've had a fig and chevre pizza that was divine.

A local gourmet pizza place here does a "thai chicken" with cilantro pesto and mango chunks.

I've had peaches on a regular (tomato sauce, wheat crust, etc.) pizza. It was pretty good. I've seen mango, but haven't tried it.

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions! It appears there are lots of things to try. I was having trouble thinking outside the box.

I think mango would likely work very well.

If you changed out the tomato sauce you could probably open up a bigger world.

Apples and brie?

Cranberry chutney and a white type sauce?

If you wanted to go *really* fruity, that same local pizza place does this one: # Fruito et Fruito ~ Cilantro pesto, pear, pineapple, mango, mandarins, blueberries, mozzarella and honey

You can skip the tomato sauce and use cream cheese instead and use kiwis, grapes, strawberries !

We do a yummy supposedly Carribean chicken, with cashews, satay sauce, chicken and bananas! Very yummy!

I sometimes make a dessert pizza using ricotta or mascarpone cheese and mango and blueberries.

If you wanted to do something more savoury, perhaps use ricotta cheese as the base, some pesto-marinated grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, red onion and mango.

You don't have to use tomato sauce, which IMO doesn't lend itself well to using fruit. Pesto is very nice. You could even use a parsley pesto, if you find basil pesto isn't to your taste.

I'm making one this week with it sausage, pear, apple, carmelized onions and fresh rosemary. You just brush teh crust with oil and S&P and then top it like that.

I think halved green grapes would mimic pineapple in a pizza...

I had a banana pizza in Mexico. It was, well, odd, but not half bad.

Mango, red pepper and brie is really yummy. No sauce, just brush the crust with olive oil
