Why I love being a mom.

I have been posting questions while in angst, while frustrated or angry or sad. But tonight I thought I'd change that vibe. I love being a mom. I have a smart, strong, beautiful, brave, funny, kind little 26 month old DD and I am 42. I think she is it for us. I have friends (um, who are like 7-10 years younger) who are working on their second right now...but I think I am good with being a family of 3. Simply because it feels so right right now. I love being with her. She is so fun and I am so in love with my DH of 14 years. I have an okay job and a great career...they don't always mesh and great friends and family. Both of my parents passed away before they met my DD. But I feel them and I know they are aware of her. She radiates . How can they not feel her? She snuggled up against me, wet and slippery, wrapped up in a froggie blanket after her shower (nixing the baths now) and said "I love my mommy". When she gets out of her bed in the morning and pitter patters over to ours and crawls in, she puts her arms around each of our necks and kisses us on the lips.

I thought I needed to know instinctively what do to do as a mom. I berated myself so often and questioned my choices almost daily and have let so much of that go that I can totally enjoy being a mom, a wife, an artist, a friend, a sister. Phew. Tonight feels good.

You're post gave me a warm fuzzy feeling! And you're absolutely right, there can be bad days but in the whole scheme of things being a mother is wonderful! Thank you for sharing Mama and helping us think good thoughts!
