Keeping Beans

I hate boiling beans each time I need them. Is there a way I can make larger batches each and freeze them or something until I need them? I find myself resorting to canned beans more than I like because I just hate the inconvenience of dried. However, thanks to WIC, I'm drowning in dried beans, so give me some ideas on how to make them early and keep them, please!

Yes, you can freeze them! I use my slow cooker to make a big batch of beans, and then put them in 1-cup containers in the freezer. I either pull them from the freezer the night before using them, or put them under running water. It works really well!

If I cook dried beans, I will only do it if I have two pounds, not one. And then I freeze them in can-sized containers so I can substitute them easily in recipes.
