Nipple cut/crack with 12 mo old

I'm in SO much pain here!! DD is 12 months. I am due for my peroid anyday now and usually the week before I'm very tender/sore. So last week I was very sore, it's like the sensation of her constatly biting or pressing her teeth but she's not KWIM? Her latch is always good when I'm PMSing but I still get super sore.

So anyway, the left side is back to feeling normal. The right, however, is not. I am in excrutiating pain EVERY time she latches, it's so horrible, I wince and can barely tolerate it. I noticed earlier today that there is a small cut where the nipple attaches to the areola and it's kind of wet/moist looking. I pressed in that area and it was def. very sore. I am getting very sharp pains when she latches, and I did notice today that she is leaving definate teeth marks on the top part of my nipple with her top teeth. Unfortunately, her teeth are exactly where that cut is too.

What can I do to heal the "cut" and try to get her to stop nursing with her teeth? She's not "biting" where I could unlatch her, but rather applying pressure. With the cut, it feels like a knife.

Help!

try some Lahsinol on the cut so that it helps with the healing, for the actual positioning - I'm guessing she can move around so you might want to try something like the football position and if you feel her teeth tightening on to the breast, say to her to re-latch - she knows whats happening and can re-position so that it's more comfortable for you. They can be really understanding at times and if you explain that this is painful then in most cases the child wants to help mamma so that they can continue on nursing. Don't know if this will help but hope that it will.
