Switching off Neosure

So, our adopted 29 weeker was just switched off neosure at 6 months. We asked to change his formula, because he seemed to be having some gastro problems. He is growing well, so the ped agreed, and we will be monitoring his weight.

We switched to the target brand with prebiotics, because he was having firm stools, and the ped said that may loosen him up. He very rarely spit up in the past, and since the switch, he is spitting up a lot at a time. He also seems to have sharp gas pains (ok, really hard to tell what it is, but the quick burst of screaming, sometimes waking him up when he sleeps)
Anyone else have these problems with a switch, how about with prebiotics?

My 32 weeker ended up going off Neosure because he had issues with the milk protein.. we did Alimentum for awhile and ultimately ended up on Neocate from 4-12 months.. and now he's been on Elecare for the lat 7 months (yes, he's still on formula at 19 months.. he has had ALOT of feeding issues.

Update: The spitting up stopped after a couple of days, and we have a happier baby! I am sooo glad we were able to switch. He is still somewhat needy, but he is just in a better mood most of the time, and now enjoys laying on the floor and playing.

It could be the neosure, it could be that he hit a developmental milestone of finally being able to grab at toys and objects......But, I think the switch has helped.
(And he is sleeping longer.....for now)
