Can you ttc one month after having a very early m/c?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and suspect I may have had a super early m/c this month - Is there any reason to not ttc next month? I've never had any other m/c at all, (that I know of) and am not even sure that is what happened this time.

no reason not to. some folks think you are even extra fertile after an early loss.

I would say it shouldn't be a problem at all.

The only reason doctors say to wait 1-3 months to TTC after a m/c is for emotional reasons and to make sure they know when the baby was conceived if you do get pregnant. You should be just fine!

When I had a m/c at about 8 weeks, my doctor told me to wait 3 cycles to let my uterus "heal." I don't know if there's anything to that though because I've known plenty of women who conceived within a month or two after a loss and their babies were just fine.

I had an MC at 10 weeks - no intervention needed. My MW said that we could TTC as soon as we felt emotionally ready - no delay was needed for any physical reason.

If you needed a D&C because the MC was incomplete, then I would assume that the wait time is needed for healing. But if it's a natural MC then there's not really anything to heal from (physically) - once your cycle is back then the body is ready.

The ER doc during my first micarriage said that there was really not much healing required for miscarriages that occured during the first three months. He said that there really wasn't much to heal from. Now, I was having a natural miscarriage, he may have said differently for one requiring a D&C. I was between 8-10 weeks.

I've also heard that one can be more fertile for the first three cycles following a miscarriage. That proved true for me, I conceived again on the second cycle.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks so much - I needed to hear some positive news today! I'm sorry you all have so much experience with this - I just got a little taste of ttc/mc dissappointment this month. I can't imagine going through this over and over! Best wishes to you all!

both of my happy healthy full term children were concieved the cycle after a miscarriage, the first at 7 weeks and the second at 6 weeks.

your hormones are ready and waiting that soon after a M/C so i sayhave fun, and if it works it works!

I don't think its necessary to wait, unless you have a D&C where you need to give your body time to heal. Plenty of people (and my OB) say that you can actually be more fertile immediately after a miscarriage/chemical pregnancy. Guess I'm living proof of that...I had a chemical pg the month before I got my surprise BFP (we weren't trying but had one day where we weren't exactly careful, either). You can see from my siggy what the results of that were!
