So after reading the belly/mummy tummy threads, I am trying to work on correcting my posture. I have terrible posture and am slouched over a computer most of the day. So when I try to sit up with correct posture I can only hold it for a few minutes because I have radiating pain all through my upper back, mostly below my shoulder blades and where they come together. Is this normal? Anything I can do about it besides keep practicing. I also get this kind of pain if I'm standing too long doing something like dishes - I find I need to bend forward. I"m otherwise in pretty good shape; I can lift really heavy, including lifts that target back muscles. So I don't fully understand this problem except that posture is more endurance based than strength based - and that's where my muscles are weaker. Any help?
