Lie to Me

Anyone else watching?

Yes! We're still watching. This last episode was good. The guy who played the sociopath was a great choice. Sweet face, kind of good looking, with a totally creepy smile.

I was disappointed with how the end of the episode was handled, though. Cal, who'd been water boarded more than once, just wanders in to the office and chats casually with Gillian.

Did she even know he'd been tortured? Had he been to the hospital?? Wasn't he totally traumatized?? I mean, if she'd already found out about this and he'd been checked out for injuries and they'd already had some sort of touching, concerned reunion, they certainly did not portray that at all. And it seems to me that these are moderately LARGE requirements for that story.

Other than that I still really enjoy the show!

I think the "point" of the show is more about spotting the liar than the character development...It was like that last season too

I haven't seen the new episode yet, but I love this show! And I love how its rooted in "real" science! I saw the real "Dr. Lightman" in the special features of the DVD. pretty cool!

I love this show... Didn't catch the full episode of the season premier, but it's online as streaming vid.

Hmmm, then maybe this show isn't for me, because I need a tv show to have a little character development and growth from season to season.

Regardless, it was simply illogical to not have a scene, even really brief, where it's made clear to us the viewers that Gillian has been informed about Cal's ordeal, with some sort of realistic reaction from her. Maybe it's my simple mindedness, but I couln't ignore that that was missing.

And I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to see a guy having a hard time coping with having been waterboarded multiple times. Even if that guy is bad-boy Cal.

.
I thought he seemed shaken up, not quite his usual self but trying to seem like he was fine. I also thought that it wasn't immediately after the arrest. Maybe the next day, still close, but enough elapsed time to have gotten medical care, rested and cleaned up and decompressed a bit. It also seems impossible to me that she wouldn't know that he'd been waterboarded. Having a scene showing her being told seems pointless to me.

I considered the idea that Cal allowed himself to be captured and tortured so he could get the guy to take him to where he buried his victims so they could find enough evidence to convict him of murder. But I can't really tell if that's what was supposed to happen. There's just not enough info.

I would bet money on this...

As for the reaction, or lack thereof, I think that this falls under their policy of "ignoring" things that the other person doesn't bring up. Since they can detect lies, they would have some serious issues if they called each other on everything (this was touched on in the first season). So, he didn't bring it up and she let it lay.

One of my favorite shows! I watch it (like just about everything I watch) on Hulu -- which alerts me when there's a new episode. I was so geeky-happy to see that new episode hit.

Who is it that came to Gillian the night before she first met with Cal? Was it the dweeb who ordered the hit on Doyle?

I think so...but it wasn't clear.
I found the transition to the press conference lacking...but thought maybe Gillian recognized him then...they guy they took back to the institute for questioning.

I might watch the episode again (on hulu.)
Maybe I missed something but if not then I think this one episode was not edited well for clarity.

I love this show! (that is all)

Good episode last night. Great interaction between Cal and his ex, Zoe. I'm still not buying into any attraction between Torres and Locher. Well, I can't get into Locher.

Loker, not Locher.

I enjoy this show so much! I can't get enough of it and wish it were on daily (like a soap). LOL
