if you use hardwood fuel pellets for your cat

quick post (working ) but the last several bags of pellets I've gotten have been really crummy - breaking down fast when my cat uses them and he tracks the icky sawdust allover the place now. i used to be able to go about 5 days with litter changes, now it breaks down within 2 days.

so I'm just not happy. that combined with me wondering where to find wood pellets in June, i'm looking for something else. i tried a scoopable litter awhile ago and absoutely will not use that, the grit is terrible, tracked everywhere.

any suggestions? of course I love how cheap the pellets were, but i'm willing to pay for something that lasts longer. swheat scoop? yesterday's news? that whole new litter box that is plastic pellets?

I've been pretty happy with the corn cob litter stuff (I think it's world's best litter). It does clump but I don't think it has any added clumping agents, and is pretty good.

Chicken feed! Great stuff! Clumps, smells nice, and is cheap and non toxic. I had to stop using it because my old dachshund won't stay out of it and is allergic to corn, but I'd use it forever if I could.

Hmm thanks. I've been so spoiled by the no-tracking of the pellets, I'm afraid to switch. I'll look into those.
