If you've taken your baby to a chiropractor....

I'm very curious about chiropractic care for babies, and no nothing about it.
A few q's:

If you've taken your baby for chiro treatments...why did you do so and what were the symptoms you were treating?

What do they do exactly?

Did it help?

Thanks from a curious, yet ignorant mama.

I took all of my children within a few days of birth. I had been seeing my chiro for YEARS and he told me that the birth process can cause the bones in their necks to become out of place. I got them adjusted within a few days of birth and then once a month for a while. From then on it was sporadic and now they haven't been for a while. I tried it for ear infections but it didn't work. We still ended up with tubes on both my daughters.

My chiro is now dating my mom so all of our chiro visits have been free.

I LOVE our chiropractor! I've taken my 2 DC since birth and I really feel it's made such a difference. I basically use the chiro as a preventative measure. Both of my kids have been fairly healthy and have had no ear infections. They seem to recover from basic illnesses better too. My chiro also does nutritional supplement therapy which I have used on the kids also. We get adjusted about once a month. I suffer from migraines which he has helped to control. Unfortuanately my daughter will probably inherit these also since it seems to affect all the females in my family. I'm hoping she will continue with chiro care when she is an adult to help with that. I wish I had discovered chiro care sooner!

Yes...2 yo DS has been adjusted once a week since birth. I also go weekly. Mostly we go to maintain good health. My chiro also does CST, which works wonders for ear infections, and colic.

We go once a month also. My daughter was asynclitic for basically her entire gestation, and then I pushed for almost five hours... when she was born, she had limited range of motion in one direction. She didn't turn her head well to one side. One visit cleared that right up!
Since then, we just go in preventatively, like a pp. She's never had an ear infection, and at 18 months, has had only one real cold. She sleeps like crap, but it's not colic related, and chiro hasn't been effective in any way for sleep issues for us.
Our spines take a beating, especially in little people who fall down all the time. I see chiropractic care sort of like wound care. Like, if you had a cut on your knee or your finger, and you did nothing, it would likely heal up eventually, but if you cleaned it and applied some sort of salve and kept it covered, it would heal faster and cleaner.
