This is our first night in cloth for overnight.

We made the Big Leap! Cloth at night! Please don't let her leak! I am so nervous that she will make a big wet puddle in our bed and then my husband will go out to the store tomorrow and buy sposies. She's in a BG 3.0 stuffed with a large Knickernappies Super Do. Her sposie is normally completely maxed out in the morning, so I pray the Super Do is not a Super Don't.

How long did it take you to find just the right nighttime solution? How many leaks and how much pain?

Good for you! I actually find far fewer leaks with cloth overnight. You may have to tweak it at first. We had no problem with leaks. Sometimes we change during the night though if babe has woken (she is still little yet and wakeful). We had success with our first two full time cloth diapering. Let us know how it goes!

Well, she leaked. I had to take off her sleeper, change her clothes and diaper. The bed was wet in her spot. She howled so much, I felt so bad. It's just not worth it!!! She ended up not being able to go back to sleep, so now all of us got up at 5 am.

The Super Do is a super DON'T.

It is likely not the SuperDo's fault - it is that pockets, in general, are not good at night for a heavy wetter. Fitteds and covers are much better - especially a pull-up/soaker-style cover.

If you try it again add more absorbency. I used to to 2 bum genius liners in the bg pocket and some nights it was soaked! BUT she never leaked. The trick is getting the absorbency right. I always thought I was going over board with stuffing till the next morning when I would take it off them and it had done the job.

I too find far fewer leaks with cloth day and night. Hope you get to try it again, and find the cloth at night love.

Oh, no! I agree about the pockets overnight - too many variables that encourage leaking such as overstuffing, pj's wicking etc. We like a good fitted and a reliable cover. hope it doesn't put you off forever. Nothing like an unscheduled 5am start.

Oh, soooo sorry! This is a hot topic in the cding world. I too have switched to sposies at night for the same reasons. Since fitteds/cover seem to be the popular answer, can anyone suggest your fav night time fitted/cover solution?

thanks!

Any fitted you like, really, plus a wool soaker like the sustainablebabyish knit cover. Or even just 2 prefolds Snappied on work really well.

Was the SuperDo really well prepped?

I like a BG AIO stuffed w/a Flip organic or a hemp PF/big doubler. The combo of the thick microfiber to quickly absorb + the cotton/hemp to hold more does the trick every time.

Sorry to hear about the wet bed!
We use a fuzzibunz with a microfleece liner plus a doubler or prefold stuck in it and it works great. I usually end up changing her once because she usually nurses in the middle but on the rare occasions that she sleeps longer, I haven't changed her and it still holds up!

Our nighttime diaper is a GMD Snug-to-Fit Supreme with a trifolded newborn prefold in it, covered with a Thirsties. Not one leak ever. And she sleeps for ten hours straight, but the fitted is barely damp.

She's leaked and blown out of sposies at night, fwiw.

I'll say that would most definitely not be enough absorbency for my guy. We have found Happy Hempys to be the best nighttime choice for us. It is a pocket fitted with a stay dry inner. I just got the new ones in the new size and we used it last night (its been a while since he outgrew the smalls and nothing else was working). I had to stuff it with 2 infant prefolds AND a hemparoo doubler. And this morning every inch of the diaper was soaked (and heavy! Must have weighed 4 lbs). But no leak.

The pfs were 1 bummis and 1 utn, both of which are far more absorbent than my GMD PFs. A single insert would never get us through the night, even if it were fully prepped.

It most definitely is not a cloth dipe failure, im afraid its a matter of mommy not realizing how mch absorbency the little needs. And trust me, we've probably all been there at least once.

I too have a heavy wetter but make it through the night with a BG 3.0 stuffed with their big insert and BabyKicks Hemparoo Joey-Bunz doubler. It works for us. Don't give up! I personally hate the smell of a super soaked disposable and can't imagine all those nasty chemicals on my girl's sweet skin all night long.

We do a BG pocket with a hemp doubler (not in the pocket part). Then I lay a CD down on the bed and put a recieving blanket over it. I've never woken up with more than a tiny circle on the bed. Now that DD is STTN (and im not changing her for the entire 8-10 hours) I think Im going to sew two receiving blankets together with two cloth diapers inside as a little pad in case she leaks.
