I can't be the only one watching this, right? So who do you like so far?

I really enjoyed Haspop--I could watch him dance all day. Also, the fire magician, Prince Poppycock, Timur and the Dime Museum (they didn't make it--do they not understand the wonder that was Klaus Nomi???), and others that I can't remember the names of.

We are dvring it also here. I like Howie being on the panel. I thought it was really neat when he went out to the crowd to get money to give to the one (bad) singer. He has so many OCD issues and he touched that guy, he touched money and he touched the girl's hand. I was proud of him. I liked the two cute young singers (on different epis), one sang over the rainbow, and the other I can't remember, it was on the first show we taped. I liked Poppycock a lot. He can introduce the masses to operetta style singing, yay. The frat boys that did the black light dancing like puppets was pretty cool too. I liked the fire/ magic guy until he cried. Kind of ruined the illusion for me, but he was still good. Glad you started this thread! Happy day to you!

I defnitely love Howie! He's hilarious! Way better than Hasselhoff.

And yeah, I agree with you on the singers, and the black light dancers. I also like the Tesla Coil guys. A friend of mine told me that groups like that on a staple on nerdy concerts,

I cried until I laughed with that Indian impressionist. DH made me replay it over and over. too funny.

Future Funk was awesome, and those two guys who popped their arms out of the sockets started out really cool and then got really disturbing!

I'm still miffed about Ciana Pelekai from last year. If they aren't actually going to let a child get to the finals, they shouldn't let them compete at all IMO.

This is such a fun show to watch! ditto about the Hoff. Howie is much more entertaining.
DH (who didn't grow up in US culture) saw a picture of 'Hoff from last season and called him McGuiver! haha

me too. I reallly wish children didn't compete, but then again, I'm against all young children competng in contests (Toddlers in Tiaras really makes me ILL, ykwim?)

I love this show!!

I was thrilled when Sharon joined the panel and I couldn't be more happy to see the backside of "the Hoff".

I love the non-singing acts. I haven't seen any clogging/tap acts... those are usually really good.

I did not really like the glowing frat act I saw something like it at the state CampFire Meeting when I was like 12. It didn't seem like something I thought would require much talent.

The impersonator killed us. We have been doing "I'll be back" ever since. The Tesla coils were pretty nifty but it doesn't seem like a "headline" thing. I guess it depends on what else they do.

I liked the fire/illusionist guy and the two young men singers

The Future Funk was too adorable.

Prince Poppycock was amazing! The thought process was so funny! "Oh he is cute!" "What is he wearing? Either he is going to be great or this is going to be a trainwreck!" "Holy crap The Barber of Seville!" I was so not expecting what occurred. He blew us away.

I was impressed by the comedian guy. I did think he deserved to get to the next round just for turning that around.

Howie's actually doing a good job, I think. I wasn't sure he would.

I felt sorry for the 9 year old singer who didn't make it through, but I agree that she just wasn't ready. Now the 74 year old singer shouldn't have made it through, but Sharon said she was sending her just to find a husband. The little girl could end up being a good singer, but she could ruin her voice if she tries to get into this too soon, especially given how she is pushing it.

I loved the Chipps Cooney guy.

I really liked Nick Pike, the juggling River Dance unicycler and Alice Tan Ridley, the singer (who I guess is Gabourey Sidibe's mother).

they put so many acts through that we were like, WHAAAAAT???
and then sent so many good ones home with a "You're not ready"

The harmonica guys? yes, they are good. Do you want to watch that for an hour?
The hand whistler? That insane yodler lady with the hair and makeup problems? the "funny" magician? THE AIR BAND???? that little punk CJ Dipper- Did anyone catch his comments when he was watching the kid with the kite? I wanted to smack him upside the head! Hannibal the insane voice teacher? really!??!? I can't even look at that guy!

Acts who should have gone through-
-the magician who decided to do sleight of hand tricks with the cards and the umbrellas- that was stunning and so amazing. I can't believe they took the old "funny" guy instead of him.

-the AA lady who does hair. her voice was so great. I was shocked when she was told to go home.

And what was up with that fire guy- he totally copied that other magician's act from the auditions, and they didn't say ANYTHING about it!

I will admit to being super psyched that Ronith the hi-larious Indian impressionist was pushed through. even though his "skit" was totally unwatchable!

MadiMamacita - We were saying the SAME thing! with the same acts (but we included Ronith) - those awful acts basically stole spots from some serious talent.... not fair or right

I did like funny magician guy but I really didn't understand some of them.

I think that is a common trick that a lot of stage magicians do. I don't think he thought of the trick but I don't think the initial guy did either. I did hear him say he "thought" of it...but I don't know what he meant by that...the actual choreography?

I feel like they have to have some bad acts included. And Howie, while I love him, is putting them through because he thinks they're funny.

My question is where the first freak show act went...the ones who were suposed to do a tango of how they fell in love (while drilling things through their sinuses??!??) They were supposed to be in Vegas, but I didn't see them in any of the groups.

But yeah, I agree with the analyses so far. Dh and I were amazed by the sleight-of-hand guy. I would definitely pay to see him

i have to say I am a little shocked the sisters are still in it. if we are going on talent alone... well I don't think they'd still be around.
