Anyone have experience using tannic acid on carpets for dust mite allergy?

DS was just diagnosed with a dust mite allergy. We rent and have carpets in 90% of our house. Landlord may be open to allowing us to take up carpet in his bedroom, but that is the only room. Has anyone used tannic acid or other products with success? I HATE CARPET..YUCK!
TIA

We used a product called Capture. It is a powder that you sprinkle on the carpet, brush it in, then vacuum. Capture also has a liquid product that you can use to shampoo and spot/stain cleaners as well.

We bought it from Home Depot.

I'd also suggest a HEPA air filter if you don't have one. That has helped us the most in the battle with the dust mites.

I hate carpet too! Good luck with your cleaning.

Just thought I'd chime in here and say I had a huge reaction to carpet stuff with tannic acid. Here I was trying to help DS, and I broke out in hives for 3 days. Dh had to clean it all up for me.
