Is all fleece created equal?

I'm looking for something to put between my prefolds and dd's bottom to wick the moisture. Being new to this I just want to double check myself, I'm looking for microfleece right? Or is any fleece going to work? Is there another fabric to consider?
Thanks in advance!

No - it's not all the same. Some fleece makes amazing covers, keeping the wet in. Some makes amazing inners, wicking the wet through. You definitely don't want to confuse the two.

All fleece is NOT created equal!

I agree with the previous poster...to test fleece for water-proofness you need to pour some water on it and see what happens.

Also there is really cheap fleece (like most of the prints they sell at joann's) that will pill after a few washings.

Malden Mills is really good high-quality fleece, but i'm not sure if you can get that in a local fabric store.
