If you really have to wait...

...at least make a list of things you have to do before you start TTC.

#1. Close on a house (in the process!)
#2. Maybe even get married. (9 years and still working on that one heh...)
#3. Build up some savings.
#4. Enjoy a real getaway together.
#5. Get a dog / train the dog.
#6. Get a box of chamomile tea for DP for the day I get BFP.

And then, you know... -> -> ->

what would you like to do before you TTC?

My DH just suggested we try for #4. The other 3 had been my ideas I don't have to wait, but I kinda want to because I realized that if I want another, I'd like to...

-Get in better shape, or at least start exercising again
-Declutter and organize
-Buy a van
-Get in better financial shape

...off to the fitness and weight Mgt section...

We REALLY need to wait (but my coworker swears up and down he thinks im going to be surprised with my own pregnancy here soon ), but here is what i'd like to do before TTCing:

1. Get my biz off the ground (ive been saying this for the past two years, but this year is do or die)

2. Get in great shape (weight training, bikram yoga, capoeira)

3. Round out my health/nutrition (round out my diet and be consistent, remove amalgams, get pre-conception health check ups) and help hubby's too

4. Build a decent savings

5. Adopt a dog and get them acclimated to our home/lifestyle

Sigh, its interesting to see how my "bucket list" before baby has changed over the years. When i first joined MDC a few years back, my list was MUCH longer, lol.

We're kind of in the not waiting, but not trying stage right now... but if we don't get pregnant right away, the things I'm working on are:

-Training the dog (less barking, better recall)
-Losing my stomach pooch
-Dig up the other half of our house foundation. We repaired half of it in April, and haven't started the second yet...
-Eat more veggies!!

I think that sadly may round it up. Everything else is either an 'in progress' like paying off DH's student loans, or doesn't jive with our long term financial plans (ie taking another vacation). We want to try to go camping lots this summer! That's kind of a before baby plan! My big thing is getting in shape, since the other big thing (getting my wisdom teeth removed under sedation) is finally finally done!

Alot of my things i need before baby are going to be done during pregnancy, but here is all I am doing:

-Finish decluttering/organizing
-Cutting out caffeine (two more pepsi's in the cabinet hiding for "emergencies")
-eating More Veggies
-Buying a van (will be PG when this is done, tax time next year)
-Bigger HOuse (by the time baby is 2ish)

ITS SO HARD TO WAIT!

Here is my list....

1) Lose 30-40 pounds in order to hopefully prevent high risk pregnancy again so I can avoid the hospital.

2) Move out of our apartment and into house with DH and 14 month old DS.

3) Pay off some debt!

Those are my main things that need to be done before TTC. It may take a year . Sigh DH wants to start right now and so do I but I really need to lose this extra weight.

-finish nursing school (December 2011)
-renovate the apartment
-get re-married (long story)
-breathe for about... a few second of my life HAHA
-pay off debt and save
-be somewhat ready to buy a house with a sizable down payment

I made a list like this not too long ago b/c I was doing pros and cons of waiting vs ttc! This list is all encompassing - stuff I would *like* to have done, not necessarily all of it HAS to be done before getting pg...

- Potty train DD
- Help her move to her own bed (at least half the night)
- Clean the upstairs and renovate
- Clean the basement! (It's a disaster!)
- Lose some weight/tone up
- Start eating healthier
- Research Brewer Diet and plan accordingly for pregnancy
- Research midwives / doulas
- Find a used/new to me bigger car (I currently drive a Mini)
- Convince DH (this one is kinda important I suppose )
